Y is my one dog all of a sudden aggressive towards my other 3 dogs and even the family?
I have 4 dogs 2 pit mixes, one female and one male the female is 5 the male is 2…then I have a 12 yr old female jack Russell and a 4 yr old male German Shepherd hound mix and that’s the problem dog! We got him from a shelter I volunteer at when he was six months old and he was great (we had 4 dogs then and they all got along) then we got our youngest male pit mix and the German Shepherd hound turned into a real jerk! He has taken over one of our recliners that’s literally HIS chair, if any dog gets within 20 ft of it he growls lunges at them and just freaks out…he won’t let ppl sit with him
He wont let people sit with him? Is the dog in charge of your house? Why have you even let him set himself up as the dominant in the household?
If you volunteer at a shelter, you need to find someone in your area who works in animal behavior and have them consult in your house. Keeping the dog on a level with the others and NOT letting him sit on a chair where he can lord it above the others is a good first step. You have a pack of dogs, and you should be in charge.
If you cannot handle the dog and keep him off of the chair you need to consider finding another home for him, with someone who is able to control the dog.
I've thought about rehoming him but he's been part of our family for almost 4 yrs and he hasn't always been this way. I'm not sure what happened after we got our last dog but maury the dog we're talking about turned in to a real jerk about a year after we got him...it wasn't like instantly he almost protected him as a puppy bc he knew he was a baby but now he's just an a@@!! So much so that he has the youngest dog scared sometimes!!! I don't know what to do...I mean when he growls and doesn't act right we instantly correct him

Pit Bull Terriers as Pets - Yes or No - and most importantly - WHY, especially if you answered yes?I personally am against having Pit Bulls as pets (especially for a family with children) for the very simple reason of “instinctive trait”. Pit Bulls were selected and groomed to be fighting dogs...

Should we be more aggressive towards North Korea?I think that my children are not safe. Our government seems like they're still playing the North Koreans off. I know the implications of this potential war. Threats are not to be taken lightly in this situation.

My dog bit me and drew blood - should I put it down?Today, the dog bit me. Hard. On the thumb, deep puncture wound and black and blue mark on the nail. I thoughtlessly took a big bone away from her without testing first how Jackie would react. Because it wasn't dog food that she gulped down in 3...
