5 mo old puppy; rescued 4 mos ago. Aust Shep mixed with perhaps Beagle. Wt, 37lbs.

Likes to lay on tile in house on his stomach with legs sprawled out. He started obedience training last week and assumed this position in class. Instructor said " He will get hip dysplasia if you let him continue doing that." Puppy's hind legs are flat against the tile. I've researched this and can find nothing that gives credence to this. Vet said months ago that because of the Shepherd there would be a possibility down the road. My question is about what the instructor said.. Any thoughts?
