What breed is she? In my opinion, this is the result of allergies.
My dog breaks out in bumpy lumps just like this but they are not cause for alarm! I have a purebred american staffordshire and our vet informed us that this is common in staffy's and other big dogs. They are itchy!
Allergies can be prevented if you know what she is having an allergic reaction to (a certain food or grass etc). However in the case of not knowing what's triggering the reaction, treatment with antihistamine's are ideal. However speak to a vet before giving antihistamine's as the correct dosage is important!
A dry nose and pale gums however are a bigger concern. These symptoms indicate your dog may be in poor health or have an underlying problem. You should, as you suggested, see your vet as soon as possible. I wish you good luck and hope your pooch gets better soon.
