Australian Shepherd Terrier Mix

Updated on December 30, 2013

Aussie Mix Puppies and Dogs

If you're looking for pictures of Australian Shepherd Terrier mix puppies or dogs, this is the right place! Here I have added my personal photos of my adorable little girl. It's not very common for shepherds to be mixed with terriers so I thought i'd share for people interested. Aussie mixes are beautiful in my opinion but pure breeds are as well. I got my Aussie mix one day with no intention of buying a dog. I walked in a puppy store and saw her snuggled up in the corner of the kennel. She was the most calm one out of the litter. I picked her up and couldn't believe how soft and fluffy she was...I had to have her I thought! So we went to buy all her supplies at Petco and came back to buy her. She was the cutest thing in the world at 11 weeks. She is now 4 months old and is growing super fast. Her hair is getting courser on her back and her little snout is now elongated. Follow my journey to her adulthood and please feel free to add any feedback at the bottom of this website :)

Little Aussie Mix Legs

Here's when my little australian shepherd terrier mix was about 11 weeks old. She had short stubby little legs...ahh I miss those days.

Princess Soft Bed

Sleepy Puppy

Silky smooth dog bed

Make sure you get your rulers out because the edges of the bed enclose it. It's very soft and of course a stylish color for your girl puppy! Note this is not the bed she is sleeping on in the picture above but I did order it later after she ruined this one from an accident.

My Aussie Mix Puppy Picture

Play tug-o-war with a rope!

Aussie puppies and dogs love to play with a rope. Either if it's by themselves (beware of strings everywhere though!) or with you. It's good for their strength and teeth.

Favorite Puppy Toy ~ Squeaky Chicken

Aussie puppies love things that squeak!

I found this chicken toy in a dollar store on a whim but wow was I lucky. She loves playing with it all day - it had a less annoying squeak to it. It's a win-win situation!

Startled Puppy!

Scared Puppy

This was funny because at the same time I took this photo my fiancé dropped something heavy and she got scared! Hehe!

Loves outside time

Make sure you let your Australian shepherd mix play outside at least 45 minutes a day. They need to run around and let their energy out!

Crate Training is Important

This is my aussie puppy's crate that took about 2 weeks for her to finally get used to it. In the beginning I had a crate that was half the size and still needed to have a divider in. She is going to get at least 40-50 pounds so we purchased a big one. I put a pillow on one end and a towel on the other. If she gets hot she will move the towel to the side and cool down with the floor bottom. Note: Only open the whole crate after being potty trained!

I bought this exact one and am very pleased with it! She loves to go to her "bed" as we tell her to and even on her own.

Favorite Puppy Toy ~ Squeaky Bone

This toy my aussie puppy has had since day one we brought her home. She will never get tired of running around the house squeaking up a storm. Highly recommended.

Favorite Dog Toy ~ Squeaky Squirrel

A must have dog toy!

My aussie mix puppy brings these squirrels everywhere she goes around the house. It's actually pretty cute when she asks to go outside because she forgot to grab her little friend. Beware though - they all have squeakers :)

A very durable bone - a top rated dog toy on amazon. I would recommend this for puppies who can't handle real bones to chew on.

More pictures to come as she grows!

Teach Aussie's Tricks at a Young Age!

My puppy knows how to sit, lay down, roll over, high-five, shake, play dead only at 4 months! So fun to teach her new things.

While this is an older post I'm glad I found it. She looks very similar to my Australian Shepard mix and now I know that mic is terrier. He is an extremely smart and we'll tempered dog.

We have an Australian Shepherd mix puppy probably terrier. We have an Australian Shepherd mix puppy probably terrier we've had him for a month and he's three months old any tips on training him as he is very active and he annoys my four-year-old lab great Dane mix . He is created most of the time because of his behavior towards my dog but I would like to know how to train him better . They are let out in the yard separately and I feel I give him a enough exercise but due to his breed it being very active it's hard for me to control him . We want him to be part of the family and become crate free or minimal use of crate , thank you

We have a Jack Russell/Miniature Aussie mix that we weren't planning to get but the second we saw her we fell in love! She has the greatest personality and keeps our lives entertaining! Our girl is black with a white belly and white legs that are covered in black freckles! And the tiniest tuft of white around the edges of her nose!

We just recently adopted a jack russell and australian shepard mix. She is only three months old and we are trying to figure out how big she'll be! She's awesome and is almost trained already for peeing and pooing outside. she's also crate trained too! Amazing!

We just got an Aussie/JRT mix. She is 4 months now and weighs about 10lbs. We have been trying to predict how big she will be. But we have been hearing a lot of different opinions from the breeder and vet. We were wondering if you knew what's the average size. ( we're hoping she gets bigger). So far we're so happy with her. Never knew a dog would pick up training as fast as she has

I have an Austrailian Shephard/Jack Russell mix. Her name is Lucy & she is almost 3 years old now. She is by far the most intelligent dog I have ever seen or even heard of. She has a personality that is just undescribable.

If I knew how to post pictures I would.

hi, i cam across your page while trying to find info on a dog we are fostering. is there a way to tell if a dog is mixed with an australian shepherd? we know his momma is a jack russell, but the lady we got him from said she thinks the dad might'v been an australian cattle dog or maybe shepherd. he has the size and shape of a jack russell but the markings of a cattle dog or i think maybe the shepherd. also each of his eyes are both dark and light, which i don't think i've ever seen before. just wondered if you might have any info to help me. thanks!

I have an Aussie/Jack Russell mix that is one of the best dogs I have ever known. He's smart, loyal, and a great pal. He looks very much like your girl, but he's got the darker brindle where she is gold. Thanks for sharing!

I have a Scotteraussie! She is now almost six months old and has the merle of an Aussie, but the rough outer coat and paws of a Scottish Terrior. She was with a litter of Scoodle pups, which is what I intended to get, but her personality, even at 2 months old, won me over. Does anyone else have a Scotteraussie? She is so lively, I can't imagine how much more energetic a Russelaussie must be! you've got a beautiful puppy. No wonder you just had to have her!

Your puppy is gorgeous! I love her paws! It looks like she's wearing high socks! This is the only time I have ever come across someone else with an Australian Shepherd Jack Russell Mix! I've featured my Aussie Jack Russell mix on my lens if you want to take a look : ) She's got different coloring, but I definitely see the similarities! (And, my pup is quite scared of noises, too!) Have fun with her!
