Memory Foam Dog Beds

Updated on March 1, 2013

Memory Foam Dog Beds

Whether you have an older dog with arthritis or you just want to give your pooch some extra comfort, memory foam dog beds are the perfect choice. They take some of the pressure off of your dog's joints as they rest and allow them to sleep and lay comfortably, improving his quality of sleep. Many dog beds made from memory foam are waterproof with a removable cover so you don't need to worry about it getting ruined when Fido comes in from the rain. There are also tons of options for large dogs in need of an orthopedic dog bed.

I remember when my dalmatian started getting old, he so so sore. It was hard to watch! A good bed can really do make a lot of difference in their pain.

Orthopedic Memory Foam Dog Bed

As dogs get older, especially large dogs and very active dogs, arthritis and joint pain becomes more and more common. It makes it hard for your pet to do everyday things like walk and play and can even make laying down to rest painful. Orthopedic memory foam dog beds are the perfect way to give your companion a comfortable place to lay their head. They can even help ease everyday joint pain which can improve their overall quality of life! Take a look at some of the options below.

Waterproof Memory Foam Dog beds

If you have a dog that loves to play in the rain or mud and then come in to lay down, you want a waterproof dog bed. The last thing you want is to spend money on a great dog bed only to have it ruined a few days in! Most waterproof memory foam dog beds have a waterproof mattress with a removable cloth cover that you can wash. You just pull the cover off while your dog is playing and toss it in the washer! You can also buy waterproof covers like the last item on the list below.

This bed can support a dog up to 150 pounds comfortably, taking pressure off of their joints and allowing them to sleep more soundly. Memory foam helps to relieve pain from arthritis.

DogPedic has a waterproof lining and sturdy memory foam that will allow it to last for years. The liner will also keep allergens from getting stuck in the bed. The outside cover is removable and washable with a slip resistant bottom.

Memory Foam Beds for Small Dogs

Memory foam comfort isn't just for the big dogs! While larger dogs are more likely to have joint issues, smaller dogs can benefit from the comfort of memory foam too. There aren't quite as many options available but I've located some of the best memory foam beds for small dogs available.

K&H Ortho Bolster Sleeper Pet Bed

This bed has a comfortable foam mat as well as a bolster for added support. Dogs also feel more secure when they can curl up against a bolster like this one. Along with being one of the highest rated bolster dog beds on Amazon, it's also very inexpensive when it comes to high quality dog beds.

The K&H Ortho Bolster Sleeper Pet Bed comes in gray or brown. You can get it in four sizes: small, medium, large, and extra large. It will be easy to find one that makes the perfect match for your pooch!

Extra Large Memory Foam Dog Beds

Large dogs need the extra support because their bodies hold so much extra weight while they run and jump around. The trick to picking the write bed for a big dog is making sure it is supportive, comfortable, and big enough for them to sprawl out on. Luckily there are a ton of great options for extra large memory foam dog beds!

Therapeutic Memory Foam Dog Bed

This memory foam pet bed is filled with memory foam chips rather than a solid piece of memory foam. They quickly return to their original shape and size to make the bed last. It is veterinarian recommended for older dogs who need the extra support. The cover unzips so you can wash it as well.

No dogs here, just two black cats. If I had a dog, though, it would be a small indoor dog, and I would buy it one of these memory foam beds. Nice idea, especially for an older arthritic dog. Nice collection here!

Wonderful information here about memory foam dog beds. Our dog is medium size and there is a variety here to choose from when we are ready for a new dog bed.

We have a pit bull / lab mix, a rat terrier and a chihuahua and they all sleep in the same 'bed'. We just got a memory foam dog bed actually, and so far they seem to love it!
