Breed Specific Legislation Should NOT Be Allowed
Just Say No
I think that Breed Specific Legislation, or BSL, is a very bad idea. It's like "racial profiling" in people. It's usually related to bigger, more aggressive breeds such as Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, Akitas, and Chow-Chows. I've got news for you, ANY dog can be dangerous. I think it's the owner's fault, not the breed's. A well-trained dog, no matter what kind, will not bite without a reason.
I have two Pit Bull Mixes, and an 8 year old son. Do you think I would have my dogs if I thought my son was in danger? Never! The only time I've ever been bitten by a dog, I was bitten by some little terrier thing. Still think BSL is a good idea?
Sure, you might think it's a great idea, until it becomes your dog. What then? Will your dog be next?
What Do You Think?
I know that this is a very controversial subject, but I really am interested in what you might have to say. I think BSL is a very bad idea. If we had it here in Minnesota, I would not be allowed to have the two wonderful dogs that I have.
Do you think BSL is a good idea?
I do expect a lot of opinions both ways here. I know it's a controversial subject, but I want to know everyone's thoughts on this. Thanks for visiting!
