You may think to yourself that it's crazy to have a pig as a pet as they are stinky and big. Well, if that goes through your mind then consider buying a micro (miniature) pig. These animals can only weigh up to 45 pounds max which is considerably smaller than normal pigs. Micro pigs are fabulous pets that can be brought in the house and be trained! They are incredibly intelligent and extremely lovable. Micro pigs are as cuddly as most puppies are to humans. They love to be held and given attention all the time. A positive aspect to owning a miniature pig instead of a dog is that they don't shed and are non-allergenic.

Micro pigs love to snuggle up with a fuzzy blanket and burrow underneath it. If you feel comfortable you may bring your bundle of joy into bed with you too. These pets are considerably clean and you may bathe them frequently. You just need to be careful on what shampoo you use on them, making sure they are designed for animals and are for sensitive skin.

Our neighbors have one and they are adorable. We had one of the original pot-belly pigs many years ago when breeders were first starting to work on breeding this breed of pig. Pigs really do make wonderful pets.

i don't have a micro pig but we used to have a big sow with lots of piglets. what i always did was i massaged the stomach of the pig and the pig automatically got down on its knees and enjoyed the massage. cheers and blessings to the piglets.

No, I do not own a micro pid, but I did enjoy looking through your very well laid-out lens. I especially liked the photos of the tiny pigs - didn't know such a creature existed. I can see how these little guys might make great pets. Thanks!

My husband and I have been talking about getting a micro pig (or, as they call them in Britain, teapot pig). They are adorable, loving and very intelligent. We live inside of city limits and there are currently by-laws prohibiting any farm animals from being kept within city limits =(

I need a pig to come to my school with the owner for an assembly. Our principal has agreed to kiss a pig if the kids raise $6,000 for jump rope for heart. Any suggestions? I live in Flagstaff AZ and have not been able to find anyone who owns a pig safe enough for a big sloppy kiss!

They're looking cute, but - no offence- I really don't like the trend that's going on these days in breeding miniature animals, because the problem is that people will buy them for the kids and when they discover that miniatures need as much special care as their big brothers and sisters, the fun is over and the animals end up in shelters or worse.

We had regular sized pigs when I was a kid and somehow even the miniature size doesn't have much appeal now. I can see why people think they are cute when they are tiny.
