Dachshund Luke

Updated on September 14, 2014

Who is Dachshund Luke

Dachshund Luke is a little red mini who has recently moved back to sunny Florida from Spain.

When his humans decided to visit Spain for 3 years he of course went with them. He even has a whole book written just about him and his trip abroad.

He is now enjoying swimming which is a new thing he learned to do even thought he is now 14 years old! He is going very grey but has just as much energy as when he was a young one.

He has new friends called Kitty Kat and a Pondeco dog called Puppy but would love to hear from other Dachshunds.

You can also visit him at

Three reasons to love Dachshund Luke

All Dachshund owners know that there are so many reasons to love them.

Here is my top three

1) Cuddles, cuddles, cuddles. Dachshund Luke is always ready for a quick cuddle and loves to sit on my lap - during winter he likes to snuggle under a blanket.

2) His little tail wags and his bottom wiggles every time he sees me. This makes me smile in the morning when he crawls from under the blanket and wags his tail.

3) He is such a happy little boy and he can make me smile if I am feeling down.

The long and low down of Dachshund Luke

He is our little red Dachshund.

Age: 14 years

Color: Red

Born: Florida, USA

Currently Lives: Florida

Lived: Florida, Maine and a small villiage in Spain

Likes: Being up my jumper, walks, toys, other dogs, other humans, car trips and more recently swimming.

Dislikes: Holes, loud bangs, brooms.

Best Friends: Dachshund's Dottie & Sara, Kitty Kat (our rescue cat) and Puppy our big dog.

Special: He loved every Foster Dachshund we have has in our home. Helping them to adjust and getting them ready for their forever homes.

Most embarrassing moment: Pooping too close to the Ostridge cage - It startled him when the Ostridge nibbled his tail.

What he doesn't want you to know: He is very fussy about where he poops and walks around and around in circles until he finds the perfect spot. Then if all is well he will poop.

Chuckit! Ultra Ball
Chuckit! Ultra Ball

Dachshund Luke does have a toy obsession!

He loves these Chuckit balls and plays with them

for hours.

When visiting friends we do not always want to take

the usual gifts so sometimes we take a gift for their

dog. These are one of our favorites.

If you have lots of space these fit in the 'dog launcher' - no you dont launch the dog, just the ball. Look for it on Amazon.

Wobbly Ball Keeps Luke Happy

Multipet Nobbly Wobbly Ball Large Dog Toy

At last a toy that Dachshund Luke does not chew up in a day. He enjoys chewing this one and it is still in one piece after 6 months.

It also bounces oddly making it unpredictable which Luke loves.

Dachshund Luke in the moment

2010 Cadiar, Spain

Dachshund Luke is hanging with Kitty Kat - we rescued Kitty Kat when he was a little kitten - someone threw him in the trash! Lucky for us we found him and now he is one big happy cat and Dachshund Luke's best friend.

Dachshund Luke Videos

Check out Luke all dressed up for Christmas and rocking to Elvis.

This was taken in Florida.

The video with him not wanting to let go or his toy was taken in Spain. The puppy grew up to be a big girl who we decided to bring back to Florida with us.

@anonymous: HI chero thanks for visiting. Your lens is lovely and Mitzi is a very special cat. Seems like you are getting the hang of squidoo judging by your lens but if you have any questions I will be happy to answer them (if I can).

Thank you for adding a link to my book on your page!

I first saw your book on Blurb & loved it. I saw my first dachshund in Germany when I lived there in 69-71. There are quite a few of them here in Portland ME. I've just done my first lens on one of my Blurb books, Where Is Mitzi? I'm still trying to figure out how it all works.

What a lovely lens - and Luke's lovely too! Never has a dachshund as a family member but love dogs in general.

      Super cute lens. :)

You've given me great inspiration to make two lenses about my dogs! Haha, now I'll be working furiously for a few days until I get those perfected. :D
