How old is your dog in human years?

Updated on August 22, 2013

What's your dog's age?

Ever wonder just how old your dog is in human years? We are here to help ya out!

Many humans still believe that one year in your dog's life is the equivalent of seven in a humans life, but it's just not true. There are many factors involved in determining your pups age - breed, size, activity, and diet just to name a few.

Veterinarians have developed a fairly realistic comparison of a dog's age to a human's age. And we found a site that, based on your dogs lifestyle, you can find out their age, PDQ!

Let's get started and celebrate your pups life! Long live the dog!

Pusuke, a Shiba-mix dog residing in Sakura, just outside of Tokya passed away on December 5th, 2011. Pusuke was recognized as the world's oldest living dog in December 2010

Owner Yumiko Shinohara said that Pusuke, died after suddenly falling ill and refusing to eat.

Shinohara told TV network FNN that she "would just like to thank him for staying alive so long." The report said Pusuke's life span would have been the equivalent of about 125 years for a human.

According to the Guinness Book of Records, the dog was born April 1, 1985. Pusuke was recognized as the world's oldest living dog last December.

Great lens. I just lost my Jersey at 15 1/2 one year ago. Still hurts. Her faithful companion, Styx (aka Boo Boo) is still going strong and running with the big dogs at 12 years old. Dog Bless.

My beagle is almost 32 in doggy years. What does the guy feed his dog to keep it alive that long, and how much exercise does Bella get?

I wish all dogs had 20 plus years in them. It is so hard to lose a beloved pet but the joy they bring is worth the heartache you are sure to face. What a wonderful lens.

Oh, good! My 12-year-old dog isn't as old as I thought. :) Actually, she's doing exceptionally well. She's a mixed breed, rather small dog, who still romps and runs and loves to hike. I hope she'll go for that world record, because she's my kid.
