Jack Russell Terrier

Updated on March 18, 2013

Meet Graham!

Another Squidoo lens by Paul Hassing.

Graham the Jack Russell Terrier (on the right) is a girl doggie.

We got the name before we got the dog.

But she has adapted well and lives a full, happy life with her daughter Omaha (left).

Where did you get Graham?

From a pedigree facility near Woodend, Victoria, Australia. This same property featured in a Pal commercial. So Graham's forebears were on the telly. :)

How did you come up with the name?

I said to my wife, 'If we ever get a dog, I'm going to call it Graham'. She surprised me with a puppy 14 years ago, and the name stuck. Vets can't handle it. :)

Graham does NOT like to be brushed!

What are your favorite things to do with Graham?

Walk. Watch TV. Sleep. Lay in the sun. Go on picnics. Go for drives. Frolic on the beach.

Graham's first artwork - If you can't have kids, make the most of what you do have.

@anonymous: The vets have a very difficult time with Graham's name. Also, her daughter Omaha's name freaks them out too. Oh well. Keeps them on their toes! :)

You had to name him Graham...because no other name would fit, he's Graham for sure and so very dear, just don't go sweat any troubles with the vet....

Our Jack is named Hank. He has a smooth coat and will not sit long for brushing. I have a lens about our late Jack named Barkley. Happy New Year!

@darciefrench lm: Ha! What a beaut story. One of the boarding kennels we used for Omaha called her 'Scruffy Bag' because she thought 'Omaha' sounded funny! Thank you for sharing, Darcie. :)

I had a Jack Russell terrier. We thought and thought about a name for her, then came up with the most original name EVER! JACKIE. We seriously thought she was the only Jack Russel named Jackie until the vet said, "Jackie?.. good god not another one"
