Jasper - the whitest white rescue cat in the world
Jasper - the whitest white rescue cat in the world
Now I'm NOT going to let my owner introduce me, because that would be unfair. To me. I'm a cat - I'm a rescue cat too - so I'm pretty much able to take control when I need to. This is my page and I'm going to make the most of.... hang on... feel a snooze coming on...
Ok I'm back. I warn you, that could happen quite a lot. Come on, I'm a cat. What did you expect?
Anyway here I am and here's my page! I'm going to show you all about my life, what I do, what I most definitely DON'T do, despite what my owners might say (like chewing cable ties or chasing after rubber bands) and what my favorite toys are.
And yes, let's get the most personal question out of the way first, shall we? I am in fact completely white. Totally and utterly white. Except when I choose to roll in the mud or in the flowerbeds, squashing (sorry I mean lovingly rearranging) my owner's plants. I don't have a non-white hair anywhere.
Boy that was embarrassing...
Anyway if you keep reading I will tell you more about my fascinating, unbelievably cute, exciting and superb life. Please read on. Zzzzzzzzzz... sorry what was I saying?
How did I get the name of Jasper?
Well it's a long story. Basically I was named after the road I was found in. Unfortunately the road was called Cecil. I did try to run towards the next road along (that was called Bruce - far more manly) but I didn't quite make it before the nice lady from cat protection came to get me. Ah well can't win 'em all.
Anyway my owners eventually came to get me because they lived next door to the cat protection lady. I managed to look cute and lovely in the window so they saw me, and then they came a few days later and took me home to live with them. I heard one of them saying the name Jasper just popped into their head so they went with that. Apparently it suited me. It took me roughly three days of listening to them calling the name Jasper before I realised they were talking about me. Looking at this photo I think it was taken on an off day. I look a bit frowny in this one. Not quite my usual gorgeous self.
Oh well. Great name anyway. It beats Cecil any day of the week.
Wow - I have been blessed!
Today my owner grudgingly told me my lens had been blessed by a SquidAngel less than 24 hours after I made it! This says to me that I am just as good at making lenses as I thought I was.
However I am not really sure what a SquidAngel is. Are they edible? Do they fly like flies do? Am I supposed to give them a nibble if I see one? How do I know if I HAVE seen one?
These are just some of the things that cross my little white mind on a daily basis. Anyway thank you to the SquidAngel for recognising my oh so obvious feline talent. Do I get a treat too?
Some of my favorite activities are...
1. Digging up the garden. I need to dig BIG and DEEP holes before I do my business.
2. Sleeping (see picture here, taken when I had just woken up. So unfair! I hadn't groomed or anything...)
3. Eating!!! (big favorite - especially when there's a nice pouch to eat)
4. Grooming (I do this a lot, especially since I discovered if I'm a bit lax my owners have to do it for me)
5. Sleeping in boxes, holes or any other shady cosy spot (like the wardrobe, in a bag, or basically with anything nice wrapped round me)
6. Chasing flies, catching them, eating them, spitting them out and watching them fly off again. This happens quite a lot. I'm not sure if it's supposed to happen or not.
7. Chasing balls of paper down the stairs. I LOVE balls of paper. In fact if Christmas is coming up and you don't mind, you could always bring me some. Thank you (always worth a try).
Yay! Can you buy me a present and send it through the computer please? I know my owners can do amazing things on the computer so I am sure it's not too much to ask. Thank you! (PS, just don't buy flea or worm stuff. Ugh. Toys are WAY better.)
This is one of my favorite cat toys
It doesn't have to be a mouse though, so long as it has catnip in it. I have a well worn black pouch of catnip that is always lovingly covered in my white hairs. It's for identification purposes, you know?
But I have to say, the mouse is quite pretty.
What do I love the most?
Sleeping on my white blanky on the bed. Ah it's a cat's life...
These are basically just gorgeous pictures of me - I will be adding more as I continue to be stunning in my daily lifeClick thumbnail to view full-size
A cat toy I don't yet understand
I have one of these and it rattles. It smells quite nice too but I can't see any food so I don't really bother with it. Occasionally my owner comes and shows me that food can come out of the ball. That's nice - I just wait for her to show me so I can eat it and then go back to sleep again. I think that's fair. White cats like me are smart like that. Owners? Not so much.
More white cats I found on YouTube
Aren't we cute?
I love Simon's Cat!
Simon's Cat is my kind of cat. He is funny and smart and very much like me in fact. He also seems to be white in the drawings so I like him a lot.
My owners have this book and they laugh a lot when they look at it and then they look and point at me. I purr and sometimes get a fuss. And sometimes I purr some more. I am also reading the book when they don't see me and I am going to try some of Simon's Cat's antics for myself. Don't tell them.
This is Simon's Cat. - I think we could be great friends
I completely identify with this video. I haven't quite managed what Simon's Cat does near the end... but we live in hope.
About Jasper's owner
"Hey can I come back now? I hope you haven't said anything you shouldn't have done? Jasper? Jasper? Have you gone to sleep again..?"
Everyone loves me! It's because I am white and lovely.
