Ladybug Schnauzer's First RIver Adventure

it was a boring Sunday afternoon and we decided to make a little adventure, taking Ladybug our little 3 year old Miniature Schnauzer out for ice cream and a walk.

We started our adventure with an ice cream cone, and a little cup of ice cream for Ladybug. She was a bit anxious to eat the whole thing all at once, and I had to keep interrupting her so she wouldn't get "brain freeze!"

We drove a few miles to Louisville, Nebraska, where there's good access to the river. Just our luck, a blues band was playing at a bar nearby outdoors. So we had a wonderful musical backdrop for our visit!

At the Platte River, my husband pointed out the remains of the collapsed bridge across the Platte which was the source of great controversy a long time ago. There was a dispute between the two counties on either side of the river about revenue sharing of the toll charged to cross the bridge. The Platte's water level came up and the bridge disappeared. The extreme drought in 2012 has made the hidden bridge visible again.

It was a wonderful way to spend a couple of hours with our furkid! I know Ladybug had a great time. She slept on my lap all the way home.

This was really good. It's the cat's meow -- oops -- Olivia Felini was helping me type this and you must know that sometimes a cat has an odd sense of humor. I'm back in control of the keyboard now. Great stories.

Ladybug is such a fantastic name for the cutest little Schnauzer ever. What a sweet family she has adopted. My two new rescue dogs are taking me on lots of adventures lately. I very much appreciate your support of animal rescue. Every dog deserves a loving home.

Cute! I like schnausers. I never had one but my mom's best friend in college had two. They were pleasant pets.
