Master Buddy Dog
I have known Buddy since he was a little shaver. Now I live with Buddy, his family (Mike (my son), Tammy (daughter-in-law), Marissa and Desiree (my granddaughters). Buddy is a best friend to Mike and has been with him through think and thin. Buddy was there for Mike at his wedding and was such a good sport he wore a tux! He is a real protector of the family and loves the children. He is a mixed breed (Basenji) but who is keeping track. He is almost 12 years old (that's old in dog years) but he can run like lighting and can be just as sneaky as the young dogs.
Buddy loves to go outside for adventures and when he comes back on command he get a treat ( a doggie bone). I think, if Buddy could talk, he probably would like a new doggie friend because when he gets out he loves to visit with other dogs like his friend Jack (terrier). The only problem is that Jack runs off and gets Buddy in trouble.
The best we can figure is that Buddy is probably a Basenji. Basenji's were bred as hunting dogs coming from stock that came from Africa. The Basenji is alert, affectionate, energetic, curious and reserved with strangers. It can be described as speedy, frisky, tireless at play, and teasing the owner into play. The Basenji is somewhat aloof, but can also form strong bonds with people and can become emotionally attached to a single human. (Wikipedia).
That does describe Buddy. He is very alert, even thought he is close to 12 years in age. He loves people, once he knows he can trust you to the family. He is very good with children, loves to play and gets very lonely when left alone. When we are gone, we leave music or TV on for the Bud.
So this lens is dedicated to Buddy and may he have many more years added to his dog years. Love ya Bud!

Friend, Grandmother, Animal Lover
I am the Lensmaster. This May 31, I will have been doing Squidoo lenses for three years. I love Squidoo and love to take pictures. I believe I love reading other lensmaster's creations as well as making lenses. Buddy was such a willing subject. I don't have a pet of my own but Buddy is always willing and able to play ball or take a walk.
That's me to the right with my late husband (lost him to cancer Sept. 3, 2010). Nothing helps you when your blue like the love of a pet...Buddy has been there for me.
How did you come up with the name?
My son got him when he was just a little pup and came up with the name. When he was a puppy, Buddy use to sit curled around the back of my son's neck.
What are your favorite things to do with Buddy?
Play Chase or Play Ball
A tennis ball is Buddy's favorite. He love to chase the ball and play catch. He also enjoyed a good chase around in circles. It always amazes me how dogs never get dizzy and they can stop on a dime!
