Great subject! I have a feral cat who is not friendly to strangers, but will come to my sister, so when she takes care of Kitty, she has to deal with a great many things. When I take care of pets I always take a photo each day to show something about the cat or dog.

We usually have our neighbor care for our cats when we're away. The last time we got new cats, we had her come over for a visit to help everyone get acquainted.

Neighbors usually sit for our cats and I tell them not to expect to even see the cats when they come in because they hide. That's pretty worrisome for the sitter, but as long as the food level goes down, mine are fine. So as a sitter, listen to the information the employer provides and, in my case, don't worry if you can't find the cats!
