Our Dog Bogo
When we adopted Bogo from the Boulder Humane Society, she had had another name, but she was 5 months old and we wanted here to be OURS. So we named her Bogo! It is very unusual, isn't it? It's from the acronym BOGO (otherwise known as Buy One Get One), and we know she's a mix of at least 2 dog breeds!.
In fact, our dog Bogo, must have at least 2 dog breeds and maybe some coyote, in her makeup.
Post Script - Summer 2012 - We lost our Bogo this Spring at the great age of 15 (we really spoiled her on her birthday :) ) - the last few months without her have been very difficult - our home is emptier and quieter now. Sometime soon I hope to pen a poem on how I feel
Bogo has a mom (Me!), a dad and 2 sister's.
We all live in Boulder Colorado

Connectin Joint Supplement for Dogs
As an older dog, Bogo now gets Connectin Powder sprinkled on her food to help her joints.
Where Was Bogo as a Puppy?
Bogo and her siblings were found in a field, somewhere in rural Boulder, County. Her brothers and sisters were adopted out from the Humane Society fairly quickly, but Bogo was very, very shy and hid from people. She was fostered by a family for a few months, to be socialized, before she could go to a family for good. We found her in a pen at the Humane Society that she shared with a much bigger dog. At 5 months old, one September day 13 years ago, we brought her home. We celebrate her birthday on April 25!
As of this writing, Bogo is 13 1/2 Calendar Years Old!!
Bogo Loves Some Alpo Over Dry Food
I usually microwave her food for about 20 seconds, especially if the Alpo has been in the fridge
There Was a Family Had a Dog
And BOGO Was Her Name O
We named her Bogo from the acronym BOGO (otherwise known as Buy One Get One).
In fact, our dog Bogo, must have at least 2 dog breeds and maybe some coyote, in her DNA. She is sooo pretty! And, she has cute black spots on her tongue ( chow??). I thought about sending away for the Canine Heredity test but they only have DNA matches for breeds and not for wolf or coyote or dingo. When they do .... Maybe I'll frame her petigree (sic)
Bogo at the Lake (looking at the Ducks)
If you're wondering, the leash is the law at this park
Taking Bogo to Feed the Ducks
Bogo loves to take walks. One of her favorite walks is around the lake by our house. We walk to this peninsula to feed the ducks in the shallow water. Bogo wades in and gets her tummy soaked. We share some bread with her too!
Bogo's Favorite Toy
Bogo received this as a gift from her "grandparents" a number of years ago. Isn't it darling?
Her Blue Baby is very soft and has 2 squeakers with different sounds. Sometimes we'll come home and Bogo is waiting for us at the top of the stairs with her Blue Baby in her mouth. She is ever so gentle with it. Peter or I may squeak one side or the other while it's still in Bogo's mouth and Bogo is delighted by this attention
A Toy Like Bogo's Toy
This doll is not exactly Bogo's toy, but it has a similar texture that invites a dog to baby it and be gentle with it

During the day Bogo likes to sleep under the open drawer of Peter's desk
Bogo Eating Cereal and Milk
What about people food, you ask? She gets scraps too. She especially loves cereal with milk!
Every morning, I pick the sleepies from Bogo's eyes.
The Sweetest Dog
Bogo is the sweetest dog. She is very quiet and doesn't bark even during an "all dogs alert". Sometimes when she is intent on a squirrel, the fur along her spine will stand tall, creating an elongated diamond pattern ... maybe she has some Ridgeback in her?
Is Bogo a Coydog?
Do You Think Bogo is a Coydog?
Thank you for letting me share a bit of Bogo with you.
