Fun Things To Do With Your Pet To Celebrate!

Just look at all we put them through... we dress them in costumes, expect them to be our best friend and confidante, do everything we tell them to, be perfectly well behaved... it's a lot to expect from a four-footed creature!

So why not treat your best friend to a special fun day on April 17, which is National Pet Owners Independence Day! We'll explore several fun things for you and Fido or Fiona to do to celebrate.

I'm not sure I really get the real meaning of this holiday! It isn't really clear, nor is there much information about it. It's not even known who originated the holiday or when! But what the heck... it's an excuse to celebrate having a pet, and that's a very good thing!

A Very Comfy Gift To Spoil The Furkid With - You Will Love It Too, I Bet!

There is no feeling in the world like seeing your beloved pet stretched out on their happy new bed, especially if they're older and uncomfortable from arthritis, etc. It just does your heart good, doesn't it?

Do You Scrapbook Your Pet?

If you already do, you know the special activities would make great material for their scrapbook! If you don't yet, it's a great starting point! So be sure to snap lots of photos!

The Most Important Thing...

... is to have FUN at whatever you're doing! So don't pick an activity that you know would stress out you or your pet.

Have A Photo Shoot With Your Pet!

Memories - Scrapbooking - Even A Squidoo Lens!

Why not do a "photo shoot" just like the pro's do! Choose a pretty setting, like a quiet park, a lake outing, even your backyard. If you want to be in the pics with your pet, ask a friend to be the photographer. The great thing about digital is that it's free and you know instantly what you have. Go as simple or as elaborate as you want with playing dress-up, toys for props - your imagination and budget dictate what you do.

You'll build a wonderful memory and have lots of pictures to use in your new doggie or kitty scrapbook, or use the photos to build a Squidoo lens about your pet!

My dog's name is Sheila! We missed the holiday this year, but am sure it would be much of the same any year - lots of time together, lots of cuddles, lots of pats, lots of chats, lots of drives in the car. Congratulations on being included in the Best of Squidoo April Silly Celebrations. Blessings.

Nattie does have her own scrapbook. However, like all my scrapbooks, it's not exactly up to date. :( But, we love to take pictures of her, so you can bet we'll be snapping the lens on April 17.
