Updated on September 14, 2014

Photos of Black Bears

Beautiful black bear images. Did you know that the most common bear in North America is that of the black bear?

For the most part they live in forests. During the cold, winter months they hibernate, meaning they relax and sleep.

Please come check out a variety of pictures, captured in the wild, along with some interesting facts.

As you can see, this guy is ready to welcome you!

The most common place to find black bears is in a forest. They are omnivorous, which means they eat both plants and animals. However, they mostly eat plants and the fruits that are on them such as berries.

We have several around our cottage. You can always see some in the garbage dump. I don't want to be near them especially when they have their cubs around.

I love them all, although I really feel for the polar bears because of what climate change is doing to them. Still, I wouldn't want to get to close to them.

One of my wild fantasies is to have a face-to-face encounter with these lovely creatures! I know I'll be way too scared, but when you look at their cute faces, you'd think they're just ready to go home with you; so amazing! I love both real and stuffed Bears, but if I could cuddle up with the real ones, I'll fabulously give them my tightest hugs, haha! Love your beautiful presentation, dearest friend! Lovely lens indeed! God bless you sweetheart! Huge hug and muah!

Although the cubs look cute and cuddling they can be cause of a serious attack by Moma bear if she feels her cubs are threaten. Very interesting and educational lens.

I am rather partial to black bears. I grew up in a little backwoods community called Bear Lake and it had a gazillion black bears that lived there too.
