Rodent Terminator - Can It Catch The Rat?

Updated on August 1, 2015

Rodent Terminator - The Better Mouse Trap?

We all want a mouse trap that will do the job. Never mind if it is a little more expensive. As long as it catches mice with no gore, that is the solution. The Rodent Terminator is definitely not cheap compared to your simple wood traps, but it does live up to its promise of no blood. You can say it is also a humane mouse trap in a way with a quick lethal kill.

All mouse traps share the same function - to catch the rodents. The difference is in the way the rodents are caught and killed. Some traps merely catch the mice and rats but do not kill. These are for those who do not believe in killing and would rather set the rodents free after being caught in the trap.

Then, there are traps that snap on the rat, killing it with the force of the strike. If you are lucky, the traps will kill the rat instantly without maiming the creature. If you are not, you may find mess and smashed limbs to deal with. No thanks to these snap traps!

Now, more and more mouse traps are using electric jolt to kill. The Rodent Terminator is one of them. It is more humane and no mess. For a lot of people, that is the most important criteria when choosing a mouse trap - no gore and blood to handle after the kill.

Features Of The Rodent Terminator

There are a few noteworthy features of the Rodent Terminator that sets it apart from other mouse traps. Yes, it uses electric shock as a means of killing the rats and mice. But it does not use up a lot of battery when it is on standby mode, so it is safe to say that this trap can be left in your home for a couple of months at least if there is no kill involved. One set of batteries can also last you more than a dozen kills.

The jolt is powerful enough to kill the rat instantly. No maiming or gore is involved, making it a more humane mouse trap. The case can be taken easily taken apart for cleaning or servicing with a removable top. Once the two parts are detached, the circuit is automatically cut off. That means you are protected from electric jolts and shocks when you are handling the trap.

On top of that, the Rodent Terminator can be used outdoors due to its protective casing. Compared to similar mouse traps such as the Rat Zapper, you need to buy a separate plastic casing to house the trap. Not this one here. It has a weather-proof exterior to help you catch rodents in your yard too.

Once there is a kill, the indicator light will be flashing red. Then, it is time for you to dump the carcass. There is no touching involved and you don't have to look too, if you choose not to. Simply tilt or slide off the top and the dead rodent will pass out through the end. Easy and it is time to set another bait for another rat.

Other Mouse Traps

If you are wondering where to buy mouse traps, Amazon offers many options. Below are a few models apart from the Rodent Terminator and you can view more details via the links.

Rodent Terminator Review - Is It Effective?

That is the question to ask of any mouse trap - is it effective? Can the Rodent Terminator do the job? The short answer to that is yes. If the rodent makes its way into the trap, it will be killed. You will have a dead rat or mice lying inside the trap with the indicator light flashing telling you there is a kill.

The problem for some people is that the rodents do not take the bait. How do you get rid of the mice if they do not take the bait, right? Well, you will just have to be patient and move the trap around the find the right spot. There must also not be any alternative food sources around so that the rodents are more likely to crawl in. If you notice that the bait is gone and you have no dead rat, check the unit to make sure it is not defective.

The Rodent Terminator kills all small-sized animals including squirrels and chipmunks. So, it is also fair warning that whatever small creatures that crawl in will get fried. In a way, it proves the effectiveness of this mouse trap. But on the other, be careful where you set it if you don't want to dispose off a dead squirrel or even a bird

You did an excellent review of this product. I would never kill a creature with a trap on purpose but it would definitely be effective should one need to.

I have used the simple mouse traps in the past and could never bear to check them for fear of seeing something gory! These ones look much better!
