Sheldon the Fashionista Turtle

Updated on November 29, 2012

Meet Sheldon!

I am not allowed a pet in my current apartment, so this means that I have to have many surrogate pets. I have told you about my plant Triffle, my "niece" Pita and Indy, the dog that I don't yet own. I am now going to share with you a bit about Sheldon, the amazing knit Turtle!

This inanimate pet of mine was created from a pattern designed by Ruth Homrighaus. The Sheldon Knitting pattern has taken up a storm. In addition to the thousands of clones, Sheldon has been getting a whole new wardrobe! Since his shell is removable like a sweater, you can make a bunch of variations so you can dress him to fit the occasion.

Sheldon Costumes... currently unavailable?

Sheldon's costumes used to be available for free at KnitPicks, but they don't appear to be hosted there any longer. As soon as I can find where these outfits (Pirate, Cop, Superhero, Sheep and more) are offered, I will post the links to them.

Real knit toy that I had ever constructed. His construction made a significant impact on my design future.
