My Name is Star and I am a Pampered, Spoiled Friend and Companion
My lovely five pointed star on my right side gave me my name and I am about five years old.
My mom (well she calls herself that) is always trying to take pictures of me but she doesn't know that this is my best side. It is not the one with the star, that's on the other side, but, well I am vain and I like to show off my great body and beautiful coat. Aren't I lovely?
My coat is very soft and semi long so I love to rub it over mum's clothes, especially when it is shedding. Then I run through the house and make sure I leave bundles of it all over the carpet and furniture. But she puts up with that without too many complaints..

Who am I?
Well, I am a mother, sister, friend, and quite the young lady, if you can describe a cat in those terms. When I was born there were six of us and the others were sold off, into good homes of course. But mum took a fancy to me and she never woke up to my influence in the decision making. Looking the cutest possible at 10 weeks, when my last brother left, the lady who bought him also wanted me. She tried very hard to win mum over but, well, the decision was pretty much made earlier.
My hair is semi long and I am half Persian, but I speak English rather well. My real mum, Jenny, was adorable. She had long white fur with a hint of tortoise shell. Something frightened her when we kids were about eight weeks old and she took off never to be seen again. It was devastating. That's when I got my picture in the paper for the first time.
The picture is of some of my kittens. This is my favorite part of life as my babies are adorable and I love looking after them. Don't you think they look like me?
Of course I am spoilt
But I never let on how much
The communication is rather good for one who has only a couple of sounds to make, But I use them well with many variations.
My body language is much more demanding. If I pounce on mum's lap and pummel her stomach I can get a pretty good cuddle and get away with just about anything. If I want something badly enough I just jump on her, especially when she is asleep. That always bring an immediate reaction but I don't do that too often. You see she lets me share her bed when I am good but if I get annoying she might close the door and put me in the laundry. I don't like that.
When my time arrives to give birth I pester her for the whole day usually and if she ignores me I let her have it. Not only do I jump on her but I can make some pretty loud protest cries and she melts all over. That's when I get my back rubbed because labor is painful and a good massage helps a lot. Then when the babies start arriving mum is always there to help me while the others are born.
The picture is of me in my basket just before giving birth to my kittens.
My name Says it all
Well, as I said I have this five pointed star on my side and that is what gave me the name. Mum could not think of one for some time until the star appeared.
For some reason I am shy about showing it off as too many people want to see it. So I dart around when mum is trying to take a picture of it and that's why this one is so blurry. Well, would you want to be a star all the time? Besides I am rather shy anyway and will always be missing when strangers are around. Sometimes I will sit on a seat outside and they can see me from a distance but that's as close as they can get.
Would you have called me something else?
Or is Star a suitable name for me
My favorite toys
The best one is a small knitted mouse which I carry around and drop whenever I lay down. The kittens are always taught to respect it and when they are gone it is my friend and comfort until the next lot turn up.
In the photo my head is resting on it while I am feeding my kittens. Its not new any more and it has seen a lot of use and is somewhat daggy but I love it. I also have a little toy mouse mum bought me one day. It is much smaller than the other toy and I can carry it around inconspiculously.
I would love all my animal friends on Squidoo to have nice soft toys which don't hurt their teeth or cause pain in other ways.
When breeding kittens it is advisable to have some help and this type of advise is good to take in. It's all about natural instincts for the cat but owners don't always know how to respond to that.
Types of Cats
Many people are allergic to cats and long hair makes it more difficult to ensure their future in a permanent home. Careful thought about the type of kitten you breed must be part of any owners program.
Kittens are amazing but rearing them demands the right conditions. The same applies to dogs. Over the years I have learned how to do this but some still do not survive. This advise is good for anyone starting out,
They are So Cute
many kittens become orphans and have to be hand reared. It's obviously difficult for some people to understand their needs, This book is good for offering that kind of help.

The Pictures Tell You More About Me
The photos show me with some of my kittens and also with my daughter, Qik (pronounced quick), who also has kitens. She stayed because she was hand fed and then too nervous to leave home.
