The Fetchtastic Automatic Fetch Machine for Dogs

Updated on October 2, 2014

A Tennis Ball Machine That Keeps Throwing Balls For Your Dog to Fetch!

If you have a full-of-energy dog who loves, I mean L-O-V-E-S, to play fetch then you'll know that a fetch machine like this is like a dream come true - not only for your dog but for you too (the one who has been throwing ball after ball and ending up with tennis elbow or carpal tunnel syndrome). Think of Fetchtastic as a pinch hitter; a substitute dog ball thrower for when your arm gets too sore and you need a doggone break.

So How Does Fetchtastic Work?

The way this tennis ball launcher works is simple: Just load it up with balls and turn it on. It will automatically launch tennis balls every 7 seconds for your dog to fetch. However, the way the tennis ball machine was meant work is that only one ball is used. To do this you must first train your dog to put the ball back into the machine. With the use of treats as encouragement, this is quite easy to achieve, with many dogs mastering the technique on the first day. When Fetchtastic is used this way dogs control how often the balls are launched. Your dog can play fetch for as long as he wants - Fetchtastic never tires out!

Where Can I Buy Fetchtastic?

The Fetchtastic tennis ball launcher is available from ActiveDogToys.com. It sells for $149.95 with free shipping. It is available in two models: battery operated or AC operated. The battery version runs on 6 D batteries for up to 10 hours. The AC version plugs into any standard electrical outlet.

A Good Substitute for the Human Hand?

For some dogs, the thought of their faithful human buddy being replaced by a machine isn't going to go over well. Dogs love pleasing and showing off their fetching skills - to which a fetch machine is going to be none to impressed. However, when a dog plays with their human, typically there is going to be lots of interaction - both verbal and physical. Something a fetch machine definitely cannot provide.

That being said, once a dog's human has called it quits on a game of fetch for the day, it might be handy to bring out the ball launcher - until Fido is completely played out.
