Traumeel for dogs!

Updated on August 15, 2014

Back in 2005, I was attacked by several dogs and required immediate emergency surgery. After the surgery the veterinarian gave me a prescription pain medication and I quickly had a very bad reaction. That's when we first learned about Traumeel!

Traumeel is a natural, homeopathic method of pain relief for humans that is also very good for dogs, especially those that are sensitive to prescription pain and arthritis medications. Traumeel is a combination of 12 natural active ingredients including botanicals and minerals. It provides temporary relief of minor aches and pains associated with sports injuries, sprains, muscle aches and bruises, as well as minor arthritis pain and inflammation.

Traumeel comes in a variety of formulations including pills, ointment, gel, tincture and even as an injection solution. I've only utilized the ointment (as the gel isn't suitable for open wounds) and the pills (as the tincture contains alcohol). And they have both been a staple in our first aid and medicine kit for all of my 9+ years.

Over the years I've used the Traumeel pills for sore muscles, strains and pulls from dog agility, and after my surgery from the attack and my neuter. We used it after my sis Gracie got Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever to help her with her pain and after her spay surgery. We've used the ointment on a wide variety of injuries including cut pads, split nails, surgery/spay locations, scraps and cuts, illliopsoas pulls and more.

Many holistic and natural veterinarians recommend Traumeel for temporary relief of pain and inflammation. And over the years we have many dog agility friends who utilize it when needed for their dogs. Many of the drug interaction websites indicate there have been no known drug interactions or reactions to Traumeel, which we have found as well!

Not only is Traumeel natural, but we have seen very quick pain relief and injury healing utilizing Traumeel. So we were so glad to find that you can now purchase Traumeel in packs, including our recommedation of the ointment and pills for a really great price! We stocked up the other day.

If you would like to purchase Traumeel pills or ointment separately you can!

Here's Daisy after taking Traumeel for her spondylosis and severe osteoarthritis in the hip. She's got a zest for life again!

What do you think? Are you going to try Traumeel for your dog?
