Iguana love: Unique names for iguanas, pet food, and iguana care
Unique iguana names are where it is at:)
So, are you looking for a name for your pet iguana? Are you thinking of an usual or unique name to call him or her? Or are you looking for basic information on what your new iguana may like to eat and what temperature is good to surround him or her? Well I will discuss here both names and my experience with having an iguana.
There are a number of names to choose from. Kaino was the name of our pet iguana. The name Kaino reminded me of a little dinosaur. He was a cute iguana. He was not big or too small. I will call him a teenage iguana because to me he was in the in between stage.
I will tell you later what type of food was feed to him and what he liked to do as well as I will recommend iguana pet care books to you.
There are many books out there about iguanas such as the and there are books out there for those that have iguanas that are sick and want to know what to do with their sick iguana. Such books include Green Iguanas: A Complete Guide to Iguana Iguana (Complete Herp Care). What's Wrong with My Iguana?

Names for Iguanas
Like I said the iguana that my me and my family had was named Kaino. There are also other names that you can call him or her. You can call them Dino, Rasey, Fridge, Tat, Rhina, Oliver, Quick, or Petro.
So, what is in a name? If none of the names above appeal to you, you could name your pet iguana after a relative or another animal that you may have had.
Other names that I can think of that could call your iguana include Prince, Tommy, Rhin, Happy, Reggie, Flaky, Smirky, Coppero, Shortso, Tim, Frazier, Unio, Opo, Prio, or Leo.
For any name that you choose, it can be a fun one. I hope you have fun picking out a name for your pet.
I am sure whatever name that you pick out he or she will like it.
This owner's manual has rave reviews.
This DVD is great for owners of small to medium size iguanas. If you have a big full adult iguana, this DVD may not be for you. According to a review of this DVD, it does not cover information on caring for large iguanas.
Food for an iguana
Our iguana loved to eat sweet potato baby food. It is funny how the iguana would eat the food so fast. After the iguana was finish he would have the baby food everywhere on his body and I would have to clean the iguana up after the little creature ate.
The iguana would also like eating romaine lettuce. None of that iceberg lettuce. Yes, the Kaino like the good stuff.
Generally iguanas will eat romaine lettuce, carrots, and sweet potatoes.
Be careful what you give them though because it could become constipated or sick.
Be careful what you feed the iguana. Make sure to get him or her the right foods.
Iguanas love warm temperatures
From my experience with an iguana, I know that iguanas love heat. You will want to invest in a good heat rock and lamp for your iguana. I learned that heat is important for iguana's digestion.
I remember Kaino used to hug the heat rock so close.
This aquarium features a realistic rock replication background.
This device distributes heat evenly.
This lamp emits heat. The lamp is 75 watts and 120 volts.
We used to walk Kaino outside. I remember once when I was walking Kaino I did not hold the leash tight enough and he got away. I ran across the yard for Kaino and boy did he run fast. I finally caught him and had to get him out of a bush.
Make sure that if you are walking an iguana, you hold the leash tight.
Love your iguana
No matter what you name your iguana. Whether it is a funny name, odd name, a name that reminds you of a family member, the weirdest name or just a plain name, love him or her. Iguana's love for people to talk to them. Well at least I find this was true with Kaino. He loved the human voice. When I used to talk to him, he would either tilt his head and just stare at me or he would nod. When he would shake his head, it was almost as if he was in agreement with what you said.
I would also talk to him right before bedtime to get him calm. Our iguana would always climb our curtains and stay at the top of our curtains for hours. The only way we would get him down would be to talk to him for a while and rub him. He would close his eyes as we continued to talk. Then we would get him off the curtains. As usual as soon as we get him off the curtains, our iguana tries to get all wild like saying "no, no I don't want to get down." But eventually he would calm down again and we put him in his aquarium. He would then hug his heat rock and fall asleep.
Do you like a plain name for an iguana or a unique on?
Yes, I just like a simple name.
