Xander (nee Yoda) Getting Ready to Come Home
Meet Yoda! A Chihuahua, Frieze, Rat Terrier and Other Mix!
Well, this is actually Yoda and his bio brother, Scrappy. Yoda is the black one with the mischievous twinkle in his eye. I met him today 12/14/10.
I am going away for Christmas and it would be too crazy to get him now, so he will be with his bio father and birth brother until December 26, 2010. I am getting off the plane and driving to pick him up.
The lens won't be finished until he comes home, but I couldn't wait to publish it and show you my sweet new puppy!
I can't wait.
"Hey, this is Yoda, except that right now my name is Rocky. Some of the people around me now think that Yoda is wimpy, but I am willing to give it try. Right now I am at my bioDad's house with my brother, Scappy. Dad's name is Shadow because he is all black. I there are two adults and three kids. The girl is the one who is taking care of me until I get to my new home."
Xander (nee Yoda) Is Home and Doing Well on His Job.
As I type he is on guard at someone who is hammering next door. Being 2 pounds won't keep him from protecting his Mama.
I changed the name from Yoda to Xander, it just fit him better. Now Buffy and I both have sidekicks named Xander. He has gone to work with me every day since I got him and is a good worker!
There will be pictures and videos to follow!
Xander With Dad and Fighting With Brother
The first is very short. Xander is on the table and his dad, Shadow is on the floor.
The second is Xander and his bio brother Scrappy, being typical brothers.
How Yoda Got His Name
I really wanted a little dog with those big huge stand up years. Yoda's dad, a black Chihuahua mix and his mother a rat terrier mix both have those ears. Three little boys were born and of course, with little floppy ears.
I met his brother Scrappy first. Spitting image of Dixie, his mom. White with brown years, tail and around the eyes. His ears were starting to stand up, but instead of going straight up, they went straight out and I said, "He looks like Yoda".
Tonight 12/14/10, I met my baby. Scrappy's ears were already growing straight up, but his were still sticking out. With his black face and brown tips he looked even more like Yoda! That had to be his name.
If he gets that sleek body like his father, he will look like a tinsy, tiny Doberman. If he stays a little husky like he is now and the ears stay out, he will look like a tiny, tiniest Rotweiller!
But he will always be a Yoda!
Xander's Adopted Brother, Leo
For years I had two Dalmatians. Zeo came first, the daughter of a royal family and then Leo, who was abused and then abandoned. Zoe died over a year ago and Leo is now 14.
I have decided that I want small dogs now, ones I can take where ever I go. When I travel Leo stays with a family with two miniature Dachshunds and does well with them. He runs around the back yard with them, licks them and only got unset when Oscar ate out of his bowl.
However, it has not escaped my notice that when Yoda is full grown, his whole body will be about the size of Leo's head and now he could fit nicely into Leo's mouth. So, just to be safe, I won't leave them alone together.
But I trust they will be pals. I used to have the Princess and the Pauper (see lens below) and now I will have David and Goliath, without the war.
"This is my new brother. I is really big and I might be scared. But my Dad, Shadow isn't afraid of anything! And neither am I!"
How Leo Came Into My Life
- The Princess and the Pauper
This is the story of how Leo and his older sister Zoe came to be Arrowsmiths. Now Leo is here to welcome Yoda
I love puppy breath. I may even have a fetish about it. I love to take puppies and hold them near my nose and smell that beautiful, sweet, puppy breath. If they bottled the stuff, I would be first in line to buy!
I was shocked to learn that not everyone sees, or smells, it the same way. Amazing in the 'it takes all kinds' category.
Zoe was 4 months old when I got her and Leo was about 16 months, a rescue dog, so I never got to experience their puppy breaths! But I was able to be close to sweet, sweet Yoda!

Yoda Was the Twinkle in My Eye
I have known Yoda's bio Dad since he was a puppy. Part Chihuahua, part Freize he is gorgeous. The blackest coat and eyes I have ever seen. Ears huge and strong, pointing to the ceiling, he is trim and strong. He is a sweet little guy, until someone messes with him and then he shows that he is no push over.
I told his family that if he ever had puppies I wanted a female who looks just like him. I was going to name her Xena, Warrior Princess.
Well, the owner's mother got Dixie, a part rat terrier, white with brown ears, brown around her eyes and brown tail. Nature took its course and the next thing you know there were three little ones. No Xena, in fact, no girl. There was one who looked just like Mom, a black one with white and my Yoda. I debated about getting him, wrong time, etc. But tonight I met him and he is mine. He will move in with us on December 26, when I get home from my Christmas trip.
Oh, and after things settle down, when Leo gets used to Yoda, I will start hounding the local dog shelter looking for Xena. She will be a coal black Chihuahua and her name will be Xena, Warrior Princess.

Keeping Yoda Warm
I have never bought clothing for a canine before, but I am told that these little guys really need something to keep them warm in the winter. So now I have an excuse, it isn't just me being silly!

But This, Save a Life: Save a Life
Yoda found a home, even though he is just a 'mutt'. But there are lots of dogs and cats who will be in shelters this Christmas. Some of them are even pure breeds. Give a little to help them out.
But your dog might need some extra training after being locked up all that time. Buy this and help your new dog and others!
