Abstract Paintings That Stir Something in Me

What is it about abtract art that resonates so deeply with me?

Maybe it's the freedom of the work - not obeying any rules.  Maybe it's the focus on Color and not on objects. Whatever the reasons, I love it and want to share this love with YOU!

Here are my favorite 25 abstract paintings from contemporary artists around the globe.

This painting above is one of mine:

@anonymous: I am Tony's wife, and I concur and appreciate what everybody is saying.

My husband is extremely talented and has been painting for 30 years.

Tony R. Whincup is the most successful, prolific abstract painter thus far in the 21st century, his use of color, composition, and subject is of the likes of which I have rarely experienced. I have personally seen over 300 of his works in person, and the rich, vibrant colours never cease to amaze me. I especially love his piece called MARY MAGDALENE BEING REFUSED A BACK ALLEY ABORTION. It wasn't his intent to be controversial, but it is an interesting piece.

Awesome examples of colour, and composition. I enjoy the work of Tony R. Whincup from Las Vegas. Maybe I am just biased because I am friends with him. He has been painting for over 30 years, and has built up an impressive collection. He is currently marketing some limited edition giclees on a few websites... http;//www.WHINCUP.imagekind.com is one that comes to mind.

Splendid lens showcasing some wonderful examples of abstract art...I have been appreciative of this genre of art since I was a student in junior high school and my art teacher, Robert Carter exposed our class to the medium.

The artist depicted on this lens incorporates in their work the colors, design elements and composition of some of the finest contempary artist such Pollack Kooning and Gilliam of the Washington Color Field School of the early 1960s
