My favorite hobby is to crochet doll clothes. Using what I've learned from reading existing patterns, I create my own designs for Barbie.

One of the things in crochet that sparks my interest is draping. Because I usually work with crochet cotton thread, it is difficult to achieve a fabric that flows the way I want it to. This is my first attempt at draping to achieve a one-shoulder silhouette on Barbie.

This hub is a free crochet pattern for a Barbie One-Shoulder Day Dress. It is made to fit Barbie Basics (or Model Muse) doll. For more information on the different body types of Barbie, please visit Crocheting for Your Barbie Doll.

This pattern is done in one piece and does not have any seams. Much like most crocheters, I hate sewing, so I try to make pieces that do not require you to sew anything except for the snaps.

Materials and Gauge

Top goes from Barbie's left shoulder to the right.

Note: I am a left-hand crocheter so while the top of my dress goes from left shoulder to the right, a right-hand crocheter will have a top that goes from the right shoulder to the left.

Hi, Jo. Unless otherwise indicated, the joining is usually done with a sl st in the first sc. I have edited the pattern to reflect this clarification.
