Shake Photography

Updated on October 12, 2012

How to make shake photography in 3 easy steps:

  1. Set the camera to a high ISO; I typically do 1600 or 3200, but for longer light strands, go for one even higher. Also, make sure the flash is off.
  2. Start shaking the camera in front a light (I used the lights on a Christmas tree below. They produce a very nice design).
  3. Press the shutter and keep shaking as the picture is being saved. If you don't keep shaking the camera, you won't produce this awesome design.

Try all different sorts of lights, colors, and settings! Add some effects! Do anything you want to make the photograph as interesting as possible.
