Broomstick Lace Crochet Patterns

Broomstick lace is a fast crochet technique that allows you to not only create neat and stylish garments, but many other great items as well. The method requires the use of a crochet hook and a knitting needle. If you don’t have one, then you can use any type of dowel that will not catch and damage the yarn.

When I first discovered broomstick lace crochet, I didn’t think there was a whole lot that you could do with the stitch. But after I worked with it a bit, I realized that you can use it to make just about anything. You can use it to make afghans, wraps, hats and scarves, legwarmers, sweaters and many other things.

Broomstick lace can be worked in rows as well as in rounds. The stitches are easy to increase and decrease, which allows you to add various shapes to the design. And to top it all off, the crochet technique is very easy to learn once you are comfortable with the basic stitch combinations.
