Vintage Mermaid Made in Japan

Back to one of my favorite subjects - vintage mermaids. As a collector of vintage everything, mermaids are at the top of my list. I have been collecting for years. However, I stopped collecting for several years. When I started searching again, I went to my usual hang out - a well known auction site. Boy, was I surprised. The prices had almost quadruppled! I could not believe. It did not take me long to figure out what is going on, which I will not mention here. You can contact me, if you like, and I will have more to say on this subject. So, I started looking other places and have found better deals elsewhere. You can search online and find some good sites that sell vintage collectibles, and at times they have the vintage seahorses, vintage fish as well as vintage mermaids. Usually, for better prices than auction sites. Also, some individuals who own websites sell them for better prices. However, I did find several websites that want too much money for their vintage wall plaques and reproductions.

After finding the prices have sky rocketed, this is one of the big reasons I have decided to start reproducing vintage mermaids and vintage collectibles again. I can make them and sell them much cheaper than the originals and in much better shape. You can find some vintage nauticals that are in great shape and you will pay accordingly! Many of them, though, are not in the greatest shape. I make them by request and I can make them look vintage. That is what I am finding more people are wanting. Bling I love but that does take away from the vintage look. Too many shells on mermaids kill them to me. Most of the vintage mermaid wall plaques were plain. Occasionally, you will find those manufactured by companies with one or two porcelain flowers. Sad to say, I see reproductions all the time being sold as vintage when I KNOW THEY ARE NOT VINTAGE! So, be careful what you buy and who you buy from. You may contact me through Hub. I will be happy to give you any advice and information on collecting. Have a happy holiday everyone! I hope this article has helped.
