Crayola Crayon Maker Kit

Crayola Crayon Maker

What does a Crayola Crayon Maker do? like duh! it makes Crayons of course. What ou can do with it is you can make new crayons out of bits of broken old crayons by melting them don and moulding them into the crayon shape we know and love(Yep we love crayons and want to marry them!)

I've seen this a few times on Amazon and thought about buying it for my kids, but never got around to actually buying it as they always wanted other stuff, mainly other Crayola markers and pencils. But I just might as the idea of recylcing old crayons is a great idea, although I can imagine that mixing different brands of crayon won't be very good as some of the cheaper crayons are very wax like and they may not mix well with proper Crayola crayons.

So I'm thinking that this could be a good idea if when I do buy this to tell the kids not to mix the crayons. The age range for this for kids is 8+ because there is an element of adult supervision with this. The Crayon making kit comes with 8 color crayons of 4 colors - red, green, blue and yellow and these are just meant as the starting crayons you can break up and melt them in the little Crayon factory that comes with the kit.

Colors can be mixed also and can create fun swirly crayons, but again I would say not to mix different brands of crayon for better results.

The user reviews state that when buying this product there is a requirement to buy a bulb because that is not included and there is the crayon melting process which isn't really that exciting, but actually kids might be more jazzed at the thought of drawing with their new crayons they have helped to create.
