Crocheting a Snuggie

Snuggie the blanket with sleeves has been one of the most popular as seen on television gifts for the past few years.

Whether you have always wanted one or can't find the right size or color Snuggie to fit your needs if you crochet now you can make one. To crochet a Snuggie a crocheter must pick the right texture of yarn, colors and choose the size they want to make one in.

A Snuggie can be crocheted in larger sizes for adults and smaller sizes to fit a child. A homemade gift made out of your favorite colors can make a wonderful present for someone.

If you feel foolish ordering a Snuggie and want to make one for yourself in secret than there are wonderful free Snuggie patterns available online to fit your needs. And since Snuggies only come in a few colors and patterns you can be creative and make your own.

A Snuggie can be crocheted by using the free pattern available on the Coats and Clark Web Site (see the link above for free patterns). The pattern is labeled as easy as far as skill level is concerned but it does require some crochet knowledge and experience to make the correct size.

The sizes the free pattern provides is kids, adults, and a larger size. If you know your way around a crochet hook and a skein of yarn you may be able to crochet one up in a weekend or a few days depending on your skills.
