Crocheted Leg Warmers

Leg Warmers are great for keeping the legs or ankles warm during the cold winter months.

They make great gifts for anyone, especially for those who are always cold, or for those suffering from arthritis. Arthritis sufferers will find that once they are used to wearing them, they don't want to go without them anymore, because they will help to reduce the swelling and the pain.

Leg warmers can be worn with just about any outfit; they are sure to keep you warm when wearing skirts and dresses, or, you can also wear them underneath your jeans and even under your pajamas. So whatever outfit you choose, leg warmers will help to keep you warm.

Leg warmers can be purchased at clothing stores, or you can make themselves if you know how to crochet, knit or sew. To make them you don't really need a pattern; simply measure how long and wide you need them and then make them accordingly.

But for those who love to follow patterns there are many free patterns online for crocheted leg warmers.

Free Crochet Patterns For Leg Warmers

This pattern is written for petites, but the length can easily be adjusted by repeating rows 2-6 until the desired length is reached. The yarn used for the pattern is Bernat Satin, but you could substitute any worsted weight yarn. Bernat Satin Leg Warmers.

These would look good if worn with a dress or skirt. The yarn used is Red Heart Comfort, but again, you could substitute any yarn you like. Note that if you use different yarns the finished size will be different. This pattern gives instructions to make a string and insert it into one of the top rows to help them to stay up. These are easy to crochet and yet they look very elegant. I love how the stitches work together to create the beautiful texture. The instructions are given to fit an average adult, but can easily be modified to fit any size. Draft Dodger Leg Warmers.

These are colorful. They would make a great project for all the odds and ends of yarns leftover from other projects. Or, if you don't like the colors you could make them all in one solid color. Either way they will keep you warm and will look great with any skirt you choose to wear. Plus, they are easy to make. Funky Stripes Leg Warmers.

These are also easy to make, but are very nice and would go well with any outfit. The yarn used is Red Heart Super Saver, but I'm sure you could substitute any yarn to fit the gauge. Instructions are given for adult large, but also include instructions on how to easily adjust the size to fit you. Lacy Leg Warmers.

These leg warmers are absolutely gorgeous! They will go well with any outfit. To make them you need a G hook and some worsted weight yarn. The finished size fits around 13" legs, but you can increase or decrease them in size by using a different size hook, or different yarn. Lattice Leg Warmers.

Nice leg warmers. Years ago when my girls were taking dance they would have loved these. Now I'll need to make a pair for my grandaughter. Thanks.
