Do You Love Cats? Do You Enjoy Making Amigurumi? Combine Both!

Amigurumi are a fun craft which is gaining more popularity every day! The word comes from the Japanese, and it means knitted or crocheted stuffed animal. Usually, they are made in rounds, but you need to understand how to work in rounds. I prefer the "pillow" or square style, which is easier even for beginners.

I design my own and use color and facial "expressions" to give the little guys a "personality that is lively and lovable.

If you are a crocheter and have never tried your hand at making Amigurumi, try first a simple pattern, make one of these cute little creatures, enjoy yourself and then, find your own style. If you like the rounded form, then make those, if you enjoy making the "pillow" style, then make those!

If you have kids, there you have a great incentive to keep you motivated! You can use felt to create the facial expression or embroider them, you can also use crocheted appliques. I do a variaty of these, according to the look I want to create. You can also use purchased eyes and noses.

If you are a beginner, learning your way through the art of crochet, Amigurumi will expand your creativity and inventiveness. Just don't take it too seriously if they don't look the way you wanted at the beginning. Keep trying, and enjoying your creative journey!

Thank you for your nice comment, RTalloni, the Lord be praised! Actually, my Funmigurumi cats are VERY easy to make if you have some crochet experience and, judging by the traffic that my blog gets, they are being made all over the place. These patterns are FREE for personal or charity use.
