An easy to make mattress using pillows and cases

So after I made the felt fishing game my for my nephew, I went on to tackle his next hand made Christmas gift - the Pillow Bed. So this is a super easy project even for a beginner sewer.

The great thing with this pillow bed is that it is easy to store and wash. Just remove the pillows from their cases and place the cover in the washing machine, fold and place in your linen cupboard until its needed. This is an easy, comfy mattress for on the go or for the lounge floor.

Supplies:

You will need:

  • 4 or 5 pillow cases (depending on how long you want your mattress)
  • 4 or 5 pillows
  • sewing machine

Instructions:

This really is a super easy DIY and a great gift for anyone with a little child.

  • Pin the pillow cases together by slightly overlapping them.
  • Using your sewing machine, sew each pillowcase where you have pinned it
  • Insert the pillow into the pillow cases

And oh my goodness, how easy was that! Use your mattress when you play fort or take it with for the sleep overs at granny's. They are great for afternoon naps and could also be used when you go camping!
