Digital Camera Lens Best Buys

Updated on March 16, 2010

Buying a good digital camera is important for taking the kind of pictures you want. Getting additional lenses is also important depending on what kind of shots you want to take. Most digital cameras today have zoom and macro settings. Some cameras are better than others. The point and shoot digital cameras today are getting better and better and they are making lenses to make your camera even better. I enjoy taking pictures of the landscape and wanted a better lens to add more zoom. I purchase a very cheap telephoto lens for my Kodak Easy Share camera. I am excited to add a little more distance to my shots. I am also very interested in taking macro shots, which is taking a shot of something very very small and getting a good clear close up. The range of prices when talking about lenses is very wide. Anywhere from around 30 dollars to thousands. I started out small and so far I am fairly happy with the lens I purchased. My next purchase will be a macro lens to improve the quality of my close up shots.

Kodak Easy Share

The Kodak Easy Share is a great camera. It takes wonderful clear pictures, and I love mine. I suggest starting out fairly cheap in the lens you decide to buy to see how it works and if this is something your want to try. Adding a telephoto lens to your Kodak Easy Share is simple, just screw it on. A telephoto lens will add distance to your shots. A macro lens will help you get clearer close ups of the really small objects that you wish to photograph. I have seen some really outstanding macro shots, insect shots where you can see the hairs on the legs of the particular insect you are photographing. This lens pictured here is a low priced lens that is good for a beginner photographer or just someone who likes the small objects. A fisheye lens takes a very wide picture almost curving the image to get it all in. It's an interesting shot.

Nikon Lenses

Nikon is a great camera and have many lenses you can add to your camera to get the best possible shot. From zoom  lenses to macro lenses there are some great prices at Amazon right now. Check these out if you have a Nikon camera, the prices may never be so good again.

Canon Lenses

Canon has a wonderful array of cameras and lenses. My next camera is going to be a Canon Powershot. This is just an example of the many great lenses Canon has for its cameras. From telephoto to macro, the shots I have seen taken with a Canon camera are just awesome. When shopping for lenses make sure you are getting the correct lens for your camera. Some lenses will fit several different cameras and some are specific to a certain camera.

Research What You Want

The list of camera lenses goes on and on. I would suggest researching the lenses available for the type of camera you own before going out and buying just the first thing you see. Being knowledgeable about what you want will go a long way towards getting just the right lens for the right price. I should be getting a new lens in the mail today, I can't wait to try it out.
