Drawing Eyes

Updated on January 22, 2012

My favorite subject

Ever since I started drawing I love to draw eyes. Trying to catch the emotion, the age of the person just by drawing eyes. Sometimes I draw or paint a portrait but I´m more like a sketcher, than going into details.

And my own state of mind is just as important. I have been asked to illustrate a children´s story, but find it very hard to start. What style to use, colour or black&white, realistic or fantasy. And I have never worked with a deadline before. If I succeed I will definitely continue doing so.

Blue Eyes

I have blue eyes myself and I have noticed that most of the eyes I draw have the same colour. If I make them green or brown it just does not feel right. I wonder why that is? Or is it just because blue eyes seem more honest "believe me on my blue eyes".

I also I find it easier to draw woman´s eyes and they always seem mature.

Thank you both dianeaugust and katrinasui. Eyes are the mirrors to the soul, I love to draw them.
