One Skein Projects

When I sat down to make my easy beginners knit and purl hat, I had only a vague hope that there would be enough yarn left over to make myself a pair of fingerless gloves (gauntlets) to match my new hat. Lo and behold, lady luck favored me that night and I was able to make myself these easy to knit gloves to match.

Fingerless Gloves Pattern

Yarn: Medium (4) worsted yarn. I used Vanna's Choice color Mustard by Lion Brand Yarn.

Size 9 (5.5 mm) knitting needles.

Cast on 25.

Beginning at the fingers:

Rows 1 & 3 & 5: *K1, P1*, K1.

Rows 2 & 4: *P1, K1*, P1.

Fingerless glove pattern:

Rows 1, 9, 17: Knit across.

Rows 2, 10, 18: Purl across.

Rows 3, 11, 19: Knit across.

Rows 4, 12, 20: Purl across.

Rows 5, 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 16, 21: Knit across.

Ending at the cuff:

Rows 1 & 3 & 5: *K1, P1*, K1. Bind off at row 5.

Rows 2 & 4: *P1, K1*, P1.

Finishing: Fold in half, sides touching, wrong side facing out. Beginning at fingers edge, seam sides for 1 inch. Leave 2 inches unseamed for thumb. Sew remainder of seam and weave in ends. Turn right side out and you're done!

Hiya Liz, I love your fingerless gloves! So cool! Thanks for the pattern.. I'm just learning how to knit, and I'm enjoying it. A friend is teaching me, so I'll show her your pattern. Voted up and definitely useful! Cheers!

      Have a nice day,

      Rosie

Hello your gloves are beautiful!! Well done.

One question though where it has *k1 p1* k1 , do you repeat everything between * or alternate each time?

Love these gloves but I have tried knitting, just cannot do it. Maybe I can figure out a crochet pattern. ^
