Ever After High Ballet Flats (Free Crochet Pattern)
As a continuation to Ever After High Ruffled Cocktail Dress, I thought it was about time for me to make Ashlynn Ella some shoes to match with her new dress. As the daughter of Cinderella, she is marketed as someone who loves shoes and if you watch the videos for Ever After High, actually opens her own store selling shoes.
Since this will be the first pair of shoes I will be making for her, I thought I would start with the basic ballet flats and come up with new designs from the base pattern later. If you are interested in making these for your Barbie dolls, please visit Barbie Ballet Flats.
What do you want to see next for Ashlynn Ella?

Some Notes for Changing Sizes
Before going to the pattern, I thought I would share some of my notes while working on this project. I shared some of the basic ideas in Barbie Ballet Flats, but I feel that I need to write down some of the new things I learned to help you in future size changes.
Since Ever After High dolls have longer feet compared to Barbie dolls, I had to add a few chains to the initial starting chain for Barbie Ballet Flats and adjusted the pattern to work on the longer chain by just working sc's in those extra chains.
I also had to add another Round to this project since I felt that the shoes will fall off without that final decreasing Round. We all know how dolls always tend to lose their shoes (even in storage!), so make sure the shoes fit in snugly before fastening off and weaving in the ends.
Round 1: Starting at the sole, ch 11, inc in the 2nd ch from the hook, sc in the next 6 ch, hdc in the next 2 ch, for the toe end, work 7 dc in the last ch on this side of the working ch, working on the opposite side of the starting ch, hdc in the next 2 ch, sc in the next 6 ch, inc in the last ch, join with a sl st in the first sc, turn. (27 sts)
Round 2: Ch 1, sc in the each st around, join, turn. (27 sc)
Round 3: Ch 1, sc in the first 9 sc, (dec in the next 2 sc) 2 times, ch 1, sc in the next sc, ch 1, (dec in the next 2 sc) 2 times, sc in the last 9 sc, join, turn. (23 sc)
Round 4: Ch 1, sc in the first 9 sc, dec in the next 2 sc, sk ch-1 sp, sc in the next sc, sk ch-1 sp, dec in the next 2 sc, sc in the last 9 sc, join, turn. (21 sc)
Round 5: Ch 1, sc in the first 9 sc, dec in the next 3 sc, sc in the last 9 sc, join, turn. (19 sc)
Round 6: Ch 1, sc in the first sc, dec in the next 2 sc, sc in the next 13 sc, dec in the next 2 sc, sc in the last sc, join. (17)
