Ever After High Dolls Going to the Park (Free Crochet Pattern)
I have finally completed the set that goes with the Ever After High Ruffled Cocktail Dress. Ashlynn Ella and Hunter the Huntsman are now ready to go for a walk around the park. While most of the things in the main photo are already published in previous hubs, this hub contains free patterns for Ashlynn's Summer Hat and Hunter's Square Pocket T-Shirt.

Ever After High Ruffled Cocktail Dress
The pattern for this dress was previously published in Ever After High Ruffled Cocktail Dress. Following the release of Barbie Strapless Layered Dress, I wanted to experiment on the different types of layers I can make using the same technique. This was the first deviation I made, and I liked the way the skirt has more pouf compared to Barbie's dress. I also think it suits Ashlynn Ella's body type more, since her hips are wider compared to her torso.

Ashlynn Ella's Summer Hat
- Size No. 10 Mercerized Cotton Thread; and
- Size No. 1 Crochet Steel Hook.
Abbreviations Used (in American Terms):
- Ch - chain;
- Sc - single crochet;
- Inc - increase by working 2 sc in indicated stitch;
- Dc - double crochet;
- Sl st - slip stitch;
- Sk - skip; and
- Ch-sp - chain space.
Round 1: Work 6 sc in a magic circle. (6) Do not join or turn.
Round 2: Inc in each sc around. (12)
Round 3: (Sc in the next sc, inc in the next sc) around. (18)
Round 4: (Sc in the next 2 sc, inc in the next sc) around. (24)
Round 5: (Sc in the next 3 sc, inc in the next sc) around. (30)
Round 6: (Sc in the next 4 sc, inc in the next sc) around. (36)
Round 7: (Sc in the next 5 sc, inc in the next sc) around. (42)
Round 8: (Sc in the next 6 sc, inc in the next sc) around. (48)
Rounds 9-15: Sc in each sc around. (48)
Round 16: Brim: (Sl st in the next sc, ch 4, sk 1 sc) around until you reach the last sc, ch 2, sk the last sc, dc in the 1st sl st of the Round to join.
Rounds 17-20: (Ch 4, sl st in the next ch-4 sp) around until you reach the last ch-4 sp, ch 2, dc in the previous Round's dc to join.
Here is a quick look on how the ends of each round of the brim should look like. notice how each ch-sp looks uniform due to the ch 2 and dc you make before going on to the next round. this makes the brim look neater than if you continue working the pattern in a spiral.
Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Hunter the Huntsman's Square Pocket T-Shirt
In order to make new doll clothes, I usually turn to fashion sites for some inspiration. While I myself am not the most trendy person when it comes to clothes, I like my dolls to look modern and fashionably trendy. Admittedly, I haven't the slightest idea on how to dress up male dolls (hence, my one and only male doll, ever), but I will try to come up with something new every time I come up with a new outfit for Ashlynn Ella.
For the Square Pocket T-Shirt, I ran out of colors that can possibly match the color I used for Ashlynn Ella, so I ended up reusing Hunter's Plain T-Shirt and adding a square pocket to match the shirt with her outfit. Here is a short pattern on how you can do your own Square Pocket T-Shirt:
- Same as Hunter's Plain T-Shirt.
Row 1: Ch 7, sc in the 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn. (6)
Rows 2-6: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn. (6)
Fasten off. Sew 3 sides of the square (bottom and sides) onto the desired location on the T-Shirt.
OPTIONAL: You can decide to customize the size of the square by adding or reducing the starting chain and doing the corresponding number of rows needed to make the piece into a square.
Hunter the Huntsman's Shorts
This pattern was previously published in Ever After High Dolls on Summer Vacation. It is my first pattern for a male doll, so you can check it out if you want to make the whole set.
