Easy to follow instructions for a small Christmas tree, snowflake and a ball ornament. Patterns are available in both UK & USA format.
This pretty snowflake is made in two layers with white and blue. The beads make it extra pretty. You'll need wire and thread to create the snowflake ornament.
This archived pattern is for pretty Christmas bells created from worsted weight yarn. It may take a moment for the Way Back Machine to find the pattern. The bells are approximately 2 1/2" tall. You will need a size E crochet hook.
This free pattern is rated Intermediate, so it isn't for the beginner. To make the ornament, you'll need size 10 crochet thread and a size 9 steel crochet hook.
This is an ornament for a miniature Christmas tree. It is scaled at 1/12 size. The pattern uses very thin cotton thread and a size 14 crochet hook.
A medium weight yarn in used in the project. Each ball measures 2" in diameter. You could change yarn weights to make bigger or smaller balls. These would be a great way to use up scrap yarn. Make them in many colors and sizes.

Aunt Lydia's Rug yarn was used in this project, but I can't see why you couldn't just use scraps of red worsted weight yarn. This is a vintage pattern from 1952, but is easy to follow.

Mom's Love of Crochet offers a free Christmas tree fan ornament. The fan is crocheted with crochet cotton and a size 3 steel crochet hook.
To complete this project you will need a 3" satin ornament ball. Also used is size 10 gold thread.
You'll need 4-ply worsted weight yarn in white, and green sports weight yarn to complete the project. Of course you can crochet it in the colors you have on hand. A size G hook was used. If you can't find the green sports weight yarn, you can divide the strands of worsted weight and use that. 2 strands of worsted weight equals sports weight.
Mom's Love of Crochet is offering this free pattern which is created with size 10 crochet cotton thread. You'll also need a size 7 crochet hook.
