I've been crocheting since I was a little girl. Since then I've designed for magazines and offer free patterns at my site.

Santa | Source

Whether you call him Santa, St Nick or Father Christmas, Santa Claus is one of the signs of Christmas. Here you will find a long list of free crochet Santa patterns. They include pillows, tree ornaments, a Santa afghan, hats, boots, stuffed toy, a bank, a hanger and many more great Christmas ideas.

You'll have fun crocheting some of these projects. Many of them are quick and easy. Display the jolly old fellow for some Christmas magic in your home.

Free Patterns

Just click on the blue titles below to be taken to the photos and patterns.

Santa and Mrs Claus Dolls

Crochet one of the dolls for a child or display in your home.

Amigurumi Santa and Mrs Claus - Ana Paula's Amigurumi offers this cute free pattern for a tiny Santa and his wife. Included is a pattern for a tiny Christmas tree. You'll need to scroll down the page a bit to find the free pattern. It is crocheted with tiny scraps of several colors of worsted weight yarn and a size F hook.

Funky Santa - The Yellow, Pink and Sparkly Blog offers the cutest stuffed Santa. You'll need to download the pattern to your computer. She used scraps of double knitting yarn to create this cute fellow. Santa is holding a nice stocking too that you can crochet.

Santa - The Crafty Tipster offers the free Santa pattern that has a flat bottom with no arms and legs. The project was inspired by amigurumi. You'll need scraps of worsted weight yarn. Crochet hook size wasn't mentioned, but I assume an F, so the stitches are tight.

Santa Claus Doll - This free pattern is offered by Free Vintage Crochet. You'll need a doll as only the outfit instructions are included. The cute Santa is crocheted with worsted weight yarn and a size G crochet hook.

Santa Hats

You'll find patterns for hats that will fit the entire family.

Santa and Santa's Elves Hats - Vallieskids created these hats for children, but you could easily adjust the pattern for almost anyone. She used Red Heart Super Saver Yarn and a size J hook. These should be quick to crochet.

Santa's Hat for Adults - Offered by FaveCrafts, this hat pattern has 3 sizes. It is crocheted with Red Heart Holiday yarn and a size H hook.

Miscellaneous Santa Patterns

Here you'll find everything from a mug holder, monitor cover, goose clothes and more.

Mr and Mrs Christmas Mouse - This pattern is found at Favecrafts. It is for the cutest sitting mice. One is a little girl mouse for Mrs Santa and the other a boy for Santa himself. They are tiny and use scraps of yarn to create. You'll also need a size E hook.

Santa Bank - This free pattern is offered by Yarn Lover's Room. I crocheted one very similar to this one over a salt box years ago. It turned out really cute. The pattern here is crocheted over a 1 pound metal coffee can. If you have trouble finding one, maybe a different can will work. You'll need 4-ply knitting worsted yarn and a size H crochet hook.

Santa Claus Hanger - D Crochets offers this free pattern for a hanger with two Santa faces. This pattern reminds me of a vintage one that I made years ago, only they used the plastic rings that hold cans of pop together to form a 6 pack or 8 pack. This one uses rubber bands. Yarn size isn't stated.

Santa Coaster or Mug Mat - These are cute and offered by Mom's Love of Crochet. Put a little Santa face under your mug. You'll just need scraps of worsted weight yarn and a size F hook.

Santa Goose Outfit - The pattern is offered by All Free Crafts for a goose outfit that is cute as can be. If you've got one of the geese that sit on the porch, you've got to crochet this one. It uses worsted weight yarn for the clothes and Baby Clouds yarn for the beard. You'll also need a size G hook.
