Free Crochet Vest Patterns

I've been crocheting since I was a little girl. Since then I've designed for magazines and offer free patterns at my site.

You'll find free crochet vest patterns for the entire family here. Short vests and vests that go to the ankle are included.

Vests are so much faster to crochet than sweaters. They can add a finishing touch to an outfit. Crochet one for the entire family. Here you'll find an assortment of different styles. You can change the colors of yarn to match your wardrobe or use a color that is now in style.

Brainchildren and Eye Candy Boy's Springtime Vest - The vest is worked from the bottom ribbing up. It looks difficult, but only uses single crochet and double crochet stitches. When finished it fits sizes 2 and 4. Lion Baby Soft Yarn was used and a size I crochet hook. Offered by Brainchild and Eye and Candy.

Craft Yarn Council Vest - This is a simple vest with a U shaped neck and buttons. Instructions are included for size 8 to 18. You'll need 4-ply worsted weight yarn and a size H hook. This pattern is different, because no abbreviations are used. Everything is written out word for word.

Handpainted Yarn by Angelina Vest - This long vest with a belt tie fits sizes small, medium, large and X large and XX large. You'll need sport weight yarn and a size H hook.

Purple Kitty Yarn Belted Vest - The vest pattern is for lady's sizes extra small, small, medium and large. It fits bust size 28 to 40 inches. Modea Dea Dream Yarn was used with a size K hook. The vest is rate as Easy.

Turing Stones Hoodie Vest - This cute pattern was designed by Kim Guzman for the Caron International site. The pattern is now longer offered there, but Kim offers it at her site.

The pattern uses Naturally Caron Spa yarn. You'll also need a size F and G hook. You'll also need 6 to 9 buttons depending on the size you make. The finished pattern will fit baby sizes 6 (12, 18, 24) months.

Vintage Crochet Gypsy Vest - Crochet a vest from the '70s. The gypsy vest has a mesh look and is quick to crochet with worsted weight yarn and a size K hook.

Yarn Lover's Room Boy's Vest - Sizes that are included fit boys sizes 6-14. Worsted weight yarn is used and a size H crochet hook. The vest is rated Easy, so most crocheter will be able to use the pattern. It has a V-neck and is button down.

      Barbara, I remember those too now that you mention it. I wouldn't mind wearing one when I visit my family up north.

      teaches12345, I remember when they wore those long vests in the 70's. I think an entire sweater that went down to the ankles would be nice when we have a bad winter. I suppose it would be hard to walk in a sweater though. The vests would be better for that. Thanks for commenting.

      RTalloni, Thanks for reading. It is too bad that we don't have more time to crochet all of the projects we would like. There are so many nice ones. The boys vest is especially nice looking and hard to believe it only use single and double crochet.
