Free Patterns for Crocheted Bags

Crocheted bags have many uses, and I find that I can never have enough of them. They are great for carrying your groceries and books, or for organizing things, such as your crochet projects. No matter what kind, what size or style, they always come in handy one way or another.

Whether they are created with bright colors, flowered or plain, crocheted bags are not only fun and easy to make, but they are also fun to carry around.

Depending on the yarn and the crochet stitches used, crocheted bags can be quite stretchy. However, you can turn them into sturdy bags by lining the inside, including the handles, with a strong fabric. To line the bags, simply cut the fabric to match the bag leaving a little extra fabric for the seam-line. Then sew the pieces together along the seam line, and attach it to the inside of the crocheted bag. Always pick out a matching or a good contrasting color, especially if the bag has a lacy design to it.

Since bags are so popular, you can find patterns for them almost everywhere you go. They are very popular online and you can find tons of free crochet patterns for bags in all shapes, sizes and designs to suit your every need. Here is just a short list of free patterns for crocheted bags:
