Free Sock Pattern To Knit Bejeweled
A new Pattern
I have had so much fun creating this my first sock pattern..I hope you will enjoy knitting it as much as I have.
I have named the sock "Bejeweled" as the colors remind me of jewels, such as, Emeralds, Sapphires and Topaz.
Although I am quite sure that it will look nice in any color.
Bejeweled has now become my favorite pattern, I am sure that I will be knitting a few more pair.

Knitting The Bejeweled Sock
I used the Magic Loop method in knitting this sock, however it can just as easily be worked using DPN'S.
US #2 circular knitting needles. Or a set of 4 US #2 DPN'S.
120 grams of sock weight yarn
Cast on 64 stitches , using the long tail cast on. Divide the stitches evenly (32 stitches ) on each needle if using the Magic Loop method..or ( 11 11 10 ) over 3 dpn's.
Join in the round an work Knit 2, Purl 2 rib for 2 inches.
Rnd 1-3 Knit
Rnd 4 Knit 1, Purl 1
Repeat rounds 1 - 4 until piece measures 6 inches (or the length that you wish).
On the next round knit across 32 stitches , and turn. ( you will now be working across these 32 stitches ). As you create the heel flap.

Row 2 : (Right Side) Slip 1, knit 1, slip 1, knit 1 continue in this manner across heel until you reach the end. Turn

GUSSET & INSTEP
With same needle, pick up 1 stitch in each of the slipped stitches along the edge of the heel flap and pickup 1 stitch in the corner to avoid a hole.
Work in pattern across instep. (knit1, purl1 ).
Pickup stitches along heel flap, picking up the same amount of stiches as the other side.
Knit one round even.
Rnd 1; Knit to 3 stitches from end of needle, knit 2 together, knit 1. Instep stiches knit 1, slip, slip, knit, knit across to 3 stitches from end of needle, knit 2 together, knit 1.

Repeat these 2 rounds until 64 stitches remain...REMEMBER TO WORK THE INSTEP IN PATTERN.
