Where to Find Free Photos, Clip Art, Books, Films, Music and Education
Internet Resources are the First Line of Sources
Here is a long list that you will find for some of the very best and largest collections of free clip art sites and related media on the Internet. They have been gathering across the World Wide Web since back in the beginning of wide public access in 1996.
It would have been a miracle to have had such collections when we were doing academic papers and presentations before the Internet emerged.
I have used all of the sites listed below over the years and add continue to find and use new websites for their collections as I find them. Whenever I do find a good site, I add it to this list.
If you cannot find what you need among these links, some of the sites contain instructions for searching for other public domain materials across the Internet and for designing your own images. Any of those suggestions may be of use to you.
The web sites listed below provide totally free clip art with no royalties, no payments, and no special copying or usage rights involved. They are easy to use, offer high quality clip art and graphics images, continuous addition of new stock, and often, free photos as well.
Some sites for public domain music, films, and books are also included.
It would have been a miracle to have had such collections when we were doing academic papers and presentations before the Internet emerged.
Over 3,000,000 New Free Images
Each year, new collections of free or public domain images are posted to the Internet, making writers' and illustrators' jobs easier when they wish to attractively format a publication.
One of the most recent and best such image collections is a subset of Flickr called Open Culture, advertised for educational and cultural enhancement.
This site offers many more categories than photos and clip art, and these include textbooks, international language lessons, academic online courses prepared by people qualified to do so, films, international pieces of art work, K-12 classroom materials, recorded live concerts, and dozens of other types of materials.
