Fun Easter Crafts for Kids

Updated on March 27, 2015

Easter Time Crafts for Kids

Easter time may be a religious time for many, but for kids it is all about the easter bunny, copious amounts of chocolate and for some, time to get creative decorating easter eggs and crafting! Now there are lots of way to decorate easter eggs but I thought I would put together an article on other types of crafts you can do with your children around the easter season. From making bunny masks to fluffy chick puppets, here are my top 5 crafts that I think the kids will love, plus they are all simple and cheap to do!

I can't take credit for any of these awesome craft ideas, these have all been found during one of my many searches on the internet (mainly on Pintrest!). But you will find the links to the original sources and all the instructions in each section below, so please pay these great sites and blogs a visit if you want to know how to make these great easter crafts with your children.

Bunny Rabbit Masks

Kids love wearing masks, and will no doubt don one for any reason, and being able to make them themselves will just add to the fun. These easter bunny masks are simple to make and you will find all the instructions on the blog called Babyccino Kids (they have loads of great kids friendly ideas on the site!) Decorating them with cotton wool balls makes it easy for the kids, but also keeps the mask light so hopefully the ears won't flop (although the kids would look cute if they did!) Once finished you can add a little cotton wool tail to the kids butts and let them hop around the house and garden searching for some hidden eggs!

Toilet Roll Bunny Rabbits

This one was found on a blog called Gente Miuda, it isn't in english sadly so you will have to use google translate to get the instructions (then your common sense to actually understand google translate! lol!) But I just thought they were too cute not to include! Toilet rolls are great for kids crafts as they are always in a steady supply in most houses, and are easy to cut and decorate. There are so many different ideas for crafts you can do with them, but these were the prettiest bunnies I could find!

Feathered Chick Puppet

Isn't he just the cutest and fluffiest little thing you ever did see! I found this simple easter puppet craft over on a site called Craft Ideas. This little chick just caught me eye straight away because he is simply so fluffy!! I can image the kids having great fun with these puppets putting on little easter story shows over their holiday. You could use this method to make a whole range of other fluffy creatures, like bunnies and lambs! Plus if your kids are a little older they may not want puppets so these can double up as bookmarks, as they are on simple lollipop sticks.

Peek-a-Boo Chick

I love this type of peek-a-boo card, you can find designs like this for all different seasons and I think they are great. We often made this one with my Brownie Group (girl guides) and the kids loved that the card could open to reveal a chick. This one was found on All Kids Network so pop over there to get the full instructions on how to make this one, luckily it is pretty simple. This craft works great with kids of all ages, for the little ones you can pre cut the shapes and just get them to decorate them, for the big kids give them templates and let them do it all themselves. For a fun twist why not put a cut out picture of the kids inside the egg instead of the chick!

Easter Bunny Sun-Catcher

Finally I found this great sun-catcher idea over on Savvy Sassy Moms. I love the idea of tissue paper sun catchers and know over the years I have made a few of these myself. I love that this version is a bunny shape, as most tend to be egg shaped which can be a little boring (just an oval!). So why not let your kids add a little colour to your home and make these sun-catchers to hang in a few of your windows. Plus you can always make them in different shapes for other seasons! For a fun idea in the past I have used quality street wrappers as the external plastic wrap is often see through, the bright colours make some great rainbows in your home when the light hits them.

Aw, I love them all. Especially the toilet roll bunny rabbits. They are so cute. Awesome hub! I might have to make the mask for my daughter, who will probably destroy it before I can take a picture, but it's worth a shot. Voted up!
