Gibraltar Rock Natural Area: A Place of Majesty and Peace

Updated on October 12, 2014

How the day began...

I called up my friend to see what's up and schedule a photography session to take some photographs for our band and he agreed to go; but he wanted to take his mother along for her birthday as well since she doesn't get out much. I found nothing wrong with that so we got together and made the trip to Gibraltar Rock in Lido. It was a very relaxing and much needed immersion into nature.

There's nothing more refreshing than...pretty much any trip into nature; whether that be camping, hiking, bird-watching - whatever! I don't know if it recharges my being and refreshes my soul but whatever the feeling is, perhaps one of being reconnected with my roots, I like it. I had no choice but to document it.

I hope all of you lovely readers can empathize and really experience this trip with me through my photographs. I don't really consider myself a photographer but my friend lent me his camera for the day and so I gave it a go. I hope you enjoy and thanks for reading!

I really enjoy this photo. It reminds me of some sort of Egyptian Calligraphy.

I never get sick of this place...

I've been here several times and every time I go, I go with a different person - which creates a different experience there for me every time; and so far, it's always been exhilarating. If you're ever in the South-Central area of Wisconsin, visiting, like we were - you should check out this spot and experience it for yourself. It'll last forever.
