Less Talk

For those who've been paying attention to Justin's latest art project here are some more of his latest masterpieces. I choose to call them that because I honestly think the term applies. Nowhere else will you find anything even remotely like them. That, my friends, is a challenge, go look on this massive internet and you'll find nothing like them. In fact both Justin and I would challenge all artists to even make an attempt at recreating these tiles. I've sat right next to him while he's doing them and I can't even understand the patient process used in creating them, it's really just mind boggling! If you're a newby you'll have to backtrack to the first couple of hubs to learn more about what's going on here. If you've been there, done that, then just enjoy the latest eye candy. I'm confidant you're going to enjoy what you see. Thanks for checking them out! Peace!!

Tom and Justin, they just keep getting better. This gilded style is realy very interesting. Is there any surface that the gilding will not adhere to? Any idea on the life expectancy of this artwork? What does something like "Lotus Flower" cost? How do you get the different colors from the same material? I'm an old jewelry maker and love stuff like this. Thanks Peter

Hi Peter, thanks, I agree, that's the artist in Justin. I don't think there's a surface that can't be gilded. The tiles are all clear coated so as long as they're not thrown to the ground I expect they'd live longer than us. The Lotus flower is $25, it's one that takes less time to produce. As a jewelry maker I'm guessing you used real gold, silver and copper foil. They now produce material that that is heat treated and other colors are added so it takes the old art to a new level. Merle Ann (the comment below yours) was also a jeweler and is familiar with the gilding process. Glad you enjoy the tiles. Thanks for your interest and comment Peter! Justin and Tom.

Merle Ann, those are my favorites too. He's a typical artist, never seems to be happy until they get better. Every artist I've known needs someone to say "alright it's done" or else they'd be working on the same project the rest of their lives:-P. I'd love to visit Seattle, the closest I've been is San Fran. Oregon, Washington and British Columbia would be a great trip. Ya neva know :-) Peace and Love!! Tom and Justin

Beautiful as always. Man, that cowboy should be a huge item in Tejas. The guy across the street with the ak 47 and the helicopter should jump all over that.

Hey Todd, thanks man. Justin has another cowboy and a few horses that are done too. AK and a helicopter? Damn he's ready! Sell it Todd, let's make some $. I'll get the cowboy and horse scans from Justin and send them to you and see what you think. My newest hub made it for 2 days so I'm guessing you didn't catch it. They called it hate speech (even though all of the comments said it was hilarious)I guess that word don't mean what it used to!

No, I never got to see it. It's just Tuesday, right? I was pissed off at hubpages all day yesterday, and I thought you'd said it would be on Monday. . .fuck.

yeah - long time ago they told me that one of mine was "hate speech". . .because I described me and my sister as "evil white people" HAHAHAHAHHA!!!!!!!! Hate speech talking about myself!

Dude, that fisherman on the water KICKS ASS - that one jumps out at me too.

I'll make some more articles with these new pictures - This stuff truly is awesome! :=D That swan or sea gull kicks ass too.

Haaa! Todd, that's hilarious, I was just talking to Justin about the cowboys etc.and I said to him that I couldn't believe you didn't say something about that fisherman! I really like that one too! Yeah, I think that hub only made it about a day, maybe if I list it as a parody they'll leave it alone...but I don't know, I'm so hateful :-P

Yeah - I think someone told me that they have a category called . . .I don't fucking remember "modern humor" or maybe it even was "parody," and that they leave you alone more for posting in that category.

I tend to think that a couple of them just freaking hate me anyway regardless. It keeps me warm during the winters. . . .

They probably hate us both for telling the truth. Like Jack said "They can't handle the truth"!

I think you had it nailed when you said something like "This site really just wants things like 'five best gifts for your five year old daughter'" - that's the truth. I simply can not and will not. . . .even if I'm writing a hub about a fucking bunny rabbit. . .I'm going to be unable to stop myself from throwing in my little bits of. . .well, you know. . .

They're being thought about, I need to get photos from a couple of camera's that I used and I actually broke out my film camera, so I need to get them processed and loaded onto a disc. Plus a few things happened since we got back, 1 of which is weighing heavy. I'll try to put something together soon. Great to hear from you!!

Tom, how can I order one or two of these? I love the seagull in flight, but my son is a martial artist and I am also interested in the crane. If you wish you can email me through HP to my own email to discuss. Jean
