Handmade Music Greeting Cards

Whether you're looking for a card for a musician or someone who enjoys listening to music, you're bound to get some ideas and instructions for making your own right here. Suitable for both male and female recipients.

You'll find musical cards using the following methods: printable 3D decoupage, iris folding, punch art, and collage.

Printable 3D Decoupage Cards

To make 3D decoupage cards, you need the same picture repeated several times (or at least sections of the picture). My first attempts with this sort of card was by using wrapping paper which had a repeating pattern. The problem with wrapping paper is that it is a bit light to be used in raised layers. Nowadays I print my designs onto photo paper on my computer printer.

After printing the kit, you cut out the elements and then layer them together using thick double-sided tape or silicone adhesive. Then you are free to add your own embellishments, such as ribbon, glitter, gems, stickers, or whatever you please.

Music Punch Art

Music Punch Art

Use a variety of punches to create pictures of musical instruments - guitars, pianos, xylophones, a violin and more.

Iris Folding with a Musical Theme

Iris Folding Templates

Iris folding involves sticking strips of paper behind a cutout section in a card, carefully aligning them with a pattern. Usually the strips will be arranged in an iris arrangement (like in a camera lens).

This is an amazing selection of different themed music iris folding, including a record player, music notes, guitar player, bagpipes, female singer, piano, musical heart, jukebox, guitaar, gramophone and even Elvis.

Music Collage Idea for a Greeting Cards

Print out the desired music silhouette shape on the right and cut it out. Either use the black shape mounted on some old music score paper or use the silhouette shape as a template and cut the musical instrument / note out of the musical score paper or other patterned paper and then mount it on some white, black, or colored card.
