How to Single Crochet Left-handed

Updated on June 18, 2013

The single crochet is the beginner's stitch in crochet and it really is the easier stitch there is. With this stitch, you can make scarves, mittens, hats, blankets... well, anything, really.

You will need

Two simple things are needed:

  1. yarn
  2. a crochet hook

The size of the crochet hook that I used for this tutorial is 5mm, but you can use something a bit bigger or a bit smaller, depending on the thickness of the yarn you've chosen. You will need to able to grab the yarn with the hook easily. So if you feel like the yarn keeps slipping of the hook, you may need to consider a larger hook.
